Lionel Scaloni is an Argentian-born professional football manager and a former player. He is the current coach of the Argentina national team.
As a former player, he played mainly as a right midfielder and spent most of his professional career with the Spanish football club Deportivo La Coruna.

Scaloni ended up coaching the Argentina U20 after he hung up his boots. He was allowed to continue for six months as an Interim manager.
When they were at L’Alcudia for the U20 tournament, the Argentine football association (AFA) called him and asked him if he could manage two games.
At the time, Pablo Aimar was with him and told Scaloni that if he was going, Pablo was going with him.
According to Scaloni, coaching the Argentina U20 team was a reward, and coaching the Argentina National Team was another reward.
