Line Kongsgaard is famous for being a celebrity spouse. She is the wife of a professional football manager and a former player, Jon Dahl Tomasson.
Jon is the current manager of Malmo FF. He was born in Copenhagen to his parents Bjarne Tomasson and Leila Dahl Petersen.
A romantic wedding ceremony
Line and Jon dated for more than a decade before walking down the aisle in June 2019. Jon went on his knees and proposed to her on the New Year Eve of 2017.
The couple wedded in a romantic ceremony in Garrison’s church, Copenhagen, followed by a reception party at Odd Fellow Palace.
Their wedding rings were made from the melted jewelry of her mother-in-law
With the demise of her mother-in-law (Jon’s mother) just before the wedding, the couple decided to melt some of her jewelry into their wedding rings so that they could feel the presence and warmth of her mother-in-law.
Line’s earing was the heirlooms of her grandmother and mother-in-law.
Mother of two
The romantic relationship gave birth to their two beautiful children, Liam and Luca Tomasson.
Their eldest son Luca was born in 2008, and their youngest Liam in 2012. Both of the sons trained at Under 13 and Under 9 with Excelsior.
Line with sons stayed at Rotterdam after Jon’s appointment at Malmo FF.
She was once threatened to get poisoned
Line and family had to go through stressful years after a woman continuously harassed her and her family via Instagram.
The harassment went beyond after she allegedly posted a picture of her with Jon and claimed herself to be his wife, claimed to be the birth mother of their two kids, and threatened to poison her.
She also spread the false news of Line and Jon’s divorce. The situation forced them to drag the woman to the court.
The woman in the court stated that she started as a joke but eventually became obsessed with it.
As a result, she was put on up to two months probation and was also banned from entering the city where Line and family resided. Furthermore, she was fired from her job.
Her husband’s football journey so far
Jon was 16 when he made his senior debut for the club Koge BK where he contributed to the club promotion to 2nd division and at the end of the season to 1st division before being transferred to Heerenveen at the age of 18.
He became the top goal scorer of the club and was named the Best Dutch Football Talent of 1996. Because of his stunning performance, the top clubs were already eyeing him.
He ended up signing FA Premier League Club Newcastle United at the age of 20. Having to play out of position (attacking mid-fielder to Striker) after the injury of Alan Shearer in the last pre-season proved to be quite unlucky for him because, at the time, he was unable to play as a striker.
His next club was Feyenoord, where he excelled as an attacking mid-fielder helping the club win the Eredivisie championship in the 1998-99 season, the Dutch Super Cup, and the 2001-02 UEFA Cup.
He moved to AC Milan on a free transfer in 2002 and was part of the UEFA Champions League victory, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana.
Before retiring from his playing career in 2011, he played for Stuttgart, Villarreal, and his previous club Feyenoord.
He started his coaching career as an assistant coach to Dutch Club Excelsior and later as a head coach of the club before taking over the managing job at Roda.
He worked as an assistant manager for Vitesse Arnhem and as an assistant coach for Denmark before taking over the managerial post of Swedish Allsvenskan side Malmo FF on the 5th of January 2020.
In his first season, he led the team to win its twenty first Swedish Championship.
