He had no income coming at the moment, and he had four kids and a wife and had to pay bills and stuff, so he went to the casino thinking that he was the world's best blackjack player.
He went on winning so much that day that it was the first time that the casino asked him to leave.
Three days later, he went to another casino to test himself, taking with him 50 grand, but he didn't take all.
He kept 20 grand in the car because he had in his mind that if he lost 30 grand, he was not going to take 20.
But he ended up losing all the 50 grand, proving to himself that he couldn't do it, which was an eye-opening experience for him.
That was the day when he finally said to himself that he had to stop. He had not gambled since that day, he said.
It was sheer lunacy to make an effort to make more money to live off and support his family through gambling because he was going to have nights when he would lose, he said.
