Kennedy Owen is the daughter of Stand-Up Comedian, Gary Owen.

Family

Kennedy is the youngest child of her parents Kenya Duke and Gary Owen. 

She is the granddaughter of Barb Randall, Gary Owens, and Barbara Jean. 

She has two siblings. They are Emilio Owen and Austin Owen. Emilio is the half-brother of Kennedy and Austin.

Love-Life And Marriage

Kennedy's parents Gary and Kenya first crossed their path at a comedy venue in L.A. As per Kenya, the show featured black comics and Gary Owen. 

He was the only white guy that has performed in the show, and everyone stood up and gave him a standing ovation for his performance. 

After a few days, Kenya returned to the club with her friends and was not much impressed by his performance. 

She talked with him and told him about his performance and also shared her phone number. 

Gary called her the same day without wasting any time and giving any other guy any chance to impress her. 

The pair got married in 2003 after dating each other for several years. 

The couple is together ever since and is living happily and peacefully with their children without any rumors of divorce or an extra-marital affair.

Mother's Incident With The Delta Airline

In March, Kennedy's father claimed that a Delta employee racially profiled her mother, Kenya, while she waited to board a flight from Cincinnati to San Francisco. 

Their gate agent asked her mother was she in first class as she is a black woman and was standing in the priority line. 

As she replied yes and asked either the agent is going to ask the man behind her the same question, their agent nodded and said NO as he was a white man.

The airline released a statement after her father's post as 

"Delta does not tolerate decimation of any kind. We are reviewing the situation with our Cincinnati Team and are in contact with the customer to better understand what transpired".

Kennedy Owen’s father, Gary Owen, was seventeen when he was in a navy and was there for six years. 

When asked what drew him to the service, Gary shared that he grew up in a trailer park, and the recruiter came to his trailer.

 He said he could have him out of there next week if he signs on the dotted line. He thought it was good as he hadn’t taken any SAT or the ACT. 

His mom signed a waiver, and he was in. 

As per Gary, the military was easy to him and mentioned his first day was great. Growing up in a trailer with eight people and two bedrooms, he slept in a bed for the first time in his fifteen years. 

On a query about on which ship he was serviced. Gary stated that he was never on a ship. He was a Presidential Honor guard for two years. 

He did an inauguration for Bill Clinton back in January 1993. He shared how they were supposed to do the inauguration regularly but they had them marching right behind ‘Florida A&M Band’ so Bill Clinton’s eyes were on girls rather than on them.

 About being the funniest serviceman in America. Stephen was surprised to know that he has self-proclaimed that title.

Gary Owen announces his daughter Kennedy Owen attending HBCU

On January 2020, Gary announced that her daughter has been accepted to go to NC A&T. He took it to his Instagram handle to announce it. 

He shared a picture of himself holding the acceptance letter of his daughter. While holding the letter, he looked pleased and proud of his daughter's achievement.

And on August 2020, he announced through his Instagram that he dropped his daughter off to her college.

 He shared a picture of him hugging one last time to his daughter before she starts college. He also seemed to be emotional while hugging her. Their father-daughter shared a special moment.

Kennedy Owen’s father, Gary Owen, said he was an ex-cop, military police, and due to the workload, he used to let everybody go. 

He was in the navy for six years. Gary is popularly known as ‘Black Comedian.’ He hosted ‘Comic View’ and is the only white on-air personality on the show. 

Owen candidly talked about the audience and him getting married to his wife at First Amy in Telegraph, which is also considered one of the worst neighborhoods in Oakland.

He mentioned that he hasn’t spoken to his step-dad or mom for four years and do not talk with them anymore. 

They then discussed ‘Game of Thrones’ and other series.

Gary Owen fans defended him on being racist

In December 2020, Gary Owen shared a comment during the Jeezy and Gucci Mane “Verzuz” Battle. 

In the Instagram Live Concert, at one point, he wrote he wanted some Hennessy and a Black Mild for some reason for watching it. 

Since Hennessy and Black Mild Cigars have long been associated with Black culture, few people were offended by his joke, considering he’s a white man. 

However, tons of fans defended him on being racist by mentioning that he is blacker than many black men as he protects and treats his black wife as Queen and has done a lot for the community.
