Kelly Cristina Nascimento

Kelly Cristina Nascimento is the daughter of one of the most decorated footballers of all time, who led Brazil to its three World Cup titles, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, mainly known as Pele. 

Kelly is full of talents. She is an actress, singer, storyteller, public speaker, and sports diplomat. 

After graduating from the Parsons school of design, she studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute.

Married to a doctor 

Kelly is married to her husband, Arthur DeLuca, who is a doctor. The couple first met in the year 1978 when Arthur was an assistant in the Cosmos office.

They decided to film the story of a girl named Lias with the other ten girls setting up the camera in her apartment.

They also interviewed Brazilian ace Neymar, and the reason behind interviewing him, according to her, was that Neymar was a real supporter of a Women's game when he was young in Santos.

Her mom was her father’s girlfriend and a first wife 

Kelly is the eldest child of her parents, Rosemeri dos Reis Cholbi and Pele. Her mother was her father’s first girlfriend and first wife. 

In the Netflix documentary of Pele, he said Rose (Rosemeri) was his first serious relationship with whom he wanted to start a family. 

When he thought it was time for him to settle down, he became closer to the family and eventually got married in 1966 in Brazil. 

With the rising popularity, commercial deals started to rise as well, for which he started traveling around the world. It was for his relationship and his family. 

He admitted to having several affairs, some of which resulted in children while being in a marital relationship with Rose. 

His infidelity later became the reason for their divorce. They got divorced in 1982.

Her father is moved to the palliative care ward in the hospital

Her father, Pele, was admitted to Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo last Tuesday after suffering from general swelling. 

Kelly assured via her Instagram that he was in stable condition and there was no cause for alarm on Thursday. 

But according to the recent update, Pele is no longer responding to the chemotherapy treatment he has been undergoing since last September. 

He was diagnosed with Colon cancer in September. As reported by Folha de Sao Paulo, Pele has been moved to the Palliative care ward. 

He has been receiving wishes for his speedy recovery from players and fans. 

On Friday, ahead of Brazil vs. Cameroon match, the fans unveiled the banner with his image and the message “Get Well Soon” as well as Qatar also paid tribute by displaying his image in the building wishing him a speedy recovery. 

Pele expressed his gratitude for the tribute via his Instagram.
