Katie Ledecky

Katie Ledecky is an American competitive swimmer. Katie was born in Washington, D.C but grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. She was raised in a catholic household. 

Her parents are of mixed descent, her father is originally from Prague, Czechoslovakia and is a quarter Jewish, and her mother is of Irish descent and fully Jewish. 

Katie is a very hardworking and successful swimmer. She is known for being so dedicated and good in the water. She is one of the best and renowned swimmers in the world. 

She started her career as a swimmer from a young age, and by the age of 15, she was already one of the participants of the Olympics and also won the women's 800-metre freestyle. 

She has won numerous competitions and championships since then. She has also made multiple records and set many world records. She is nowhere close to stopping anytime soon.

Everyone is off their work because of the ongoing global pandemic, but Katie has been practising throughout this hard time as well but keeping her safety as a priority. 

She has been in the pool, practising and shaping herself for the upcoming Olympics that will be held in Tokyo. She wants to give her absolute best and is working hard for it.

Katie's parents are mother Mary Gen Ledecky and father, David Ledecky. Her father is of Czech descent. 

Katie's grandfather is Dr Jaromir Ledecky, PhD, who had come to the USA in 1921 and settled in New York on September 8, 1947, as a student. 

He later became an economist. She also has a brother named Michael Ledecky, with whom she is very close. So, we can say that Katie has a family of mixed nationality.
