Julie Lauren is the second wife of Adkins. They met each other in 1989 and dated for two years.
They gained interest in each other and came to tie the knot on 3rd February 1991.
They were happily married and compatible with each other, but slowly, things came to be toxic.
Trace had the habit of drinking excessively, which triggered his wife, Curtis, mentally.
She couldn’t hold her anger and let it loose by shooting Trace in 1994. This incident was a result of a heated argument.
She shot him with a .38 pistol after Trace tried to scare the gun out of her hand.
He even threatened her by saying he would snatch the gun away from her and beat the brains out of it.
He said he would never do that but told her in hopes that it would scare her.
Altogether, she shot two bullets, one through his heart and one through his lungs. He was severely injured and unconscious.
But fortunately, he survived after being airlifted to the hospital.
However, he recalled that the doctors in the hospital had little confidence in his survival and had requested his family and friends to visit him and say their final goodbye.
Trace did not press charges against his wife, but this incident scarred their marriage forever. Trace has been weaker healthwise since he was a child.
He had once become a victim of a bike accident when he was 17 and more when he played in college football, and his second wife made it more complicated.
They separated after three years of their marriage because after what she committed, there was no reason for Trace to stay around her.
Their divorce was finalized in 1997.
TRACE WAS MARRIED THREE MORE TIMES
Adkin was first married to Barbara Lewis. The couple tied the knot and exchanged vows in 1980.
After a few years, they welcomed their first child, Tarah Adkins, to whom they were deeply attached and who was a huge blessing for their family.
Then again, they had their second child, Sarah Adkin. Things were going well until the day they planned for the divorce. Their divorce was finalized in 1995.
