Josephine Archer Cameron is famous as a celebrity kid.

How did her parents meet?

Her parents, Linda Hamilton and James Cameroon, met around filming Terminator 2: Judgement Day. They started dating in 1991 after filming the movie. 

They had Josephine two years later. They briefly separated because they were taking a break from each other. 

James was filming Titanic and fell for actress Suzy Amis, who had a small role in Titanic. However, they reconciled but ended up getting divorced two years later.

Her mother said it was not the affair with Suzy Amis that led to their divorce

Her father ended up marrying Suzy Amis after getting divorced from her mother. 

Her mother later revealed that it was not an affair with Amis that ended their relationship. 

During an interview with Daily Mail in 2010, she shared that she and James were separated when he fell for Suzi Amis. 

Titanic was the most painful thing in the world, but that wasn't because James was cheating on her. 

Jim went off with Suzy because they were taking a break from each other, and he was free to go with her, she said.

"It was a painful time because we had a relationship where I would push him away, then he would push her away. Frankly, most of our relationship was us taking a break", she added. 

According to Linda, when James got together with Suzy, she changed her mind, and he came back to her, and they got married. 

Then he felt terrible about what he had done to her and went back to her. 

There was a period when he did sort of crossover because he was confused, she explained. 

One does want to win. Of course, but I have known for many years that this was the very best way to work. I am the one that got away, and she has to live with that and share him with me, she further explained.

In an interview with the New York Times in 2019, she expressed that when she broke up with James, she was completely devastated for years, but at the time, she was happy to be free of that.

She would never, ever put that much energy again into something that is not working, she said.

She has four half-siblings

Josephine has four half-siblings, one from her mother's side and three from her father’s side. 

She has a brother, Dalton, born in 1989, whom her mother shares with her first ex-husband, Bruce Abbott. 

Her three young half-sisters, Elizabeth Rose Cameroon, Quinn Cameroon, and Claire Cameroon, are from her father’s marriage to Suzy Amis. 

Her father has been married to Amis since 2000. She is the fourth wife of her father. 

Her mother said in an interview that she and James had different parenting styles. 

She said though they still fought over many other things after they welcomed Josephine, there was no complaint about him as a father.

He is a fabulous, hands-on dad, she said. 

She also said at the time that Josephine had grown incredibly strong and adored him like a daughter loves her daddy, but in those days, James would go away for three years to do a movie and treat her like a one-year-old while she and Josephine had rules and knew how things worked and they would argue over that.

Prior to marrying her father, her mother married actor Bruce Abbott in 1982. When she was pregnant with their son in 1989, Abbott left her.

She told Winfrey that when she became pregnant with their son, Dalton, Abbott could no longer take the ups and downs. 

He lived in fear of her and left her, calling her a bully. 

“I was very physical at times. I would grab him by the legs and refuse to let him leave me. Once, I threw a glass of water in his face. I would make him suffer”, she explained.
