Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel is famous as the son of supermodel Heidi Klum and Grammy-award-winning singer Seal.

His parents could not save their marriage even after eight times wedding vows renewal

His parents got engaged in December 2004 on a glacier in Whistler, British Columbia, before tying their wedding knot on a beach in Mexico in May 2005. 

His mother adopted his father’s surname, Samuel, and became Heidi Samuel. 

To make their marriage successful, they went on renewing their wedding vows in front of their friends and family on every anniversary. 

But unfortunately, their marriage could not last more than seven years, with Heidi filing for divorce in April 2012, three months after their divorce announcement, and restored her name from Heidi Samuel to Heidi Klum. 

According to Klum, she and her husband renewed their wedding vows annually so that they could make their marriage work thinking that it would be fun and fest of love, but despite that, it did not work.

The reason for divorce

The divorce of his parents was finalized in October 2014. 

When Klum was asked about the reason for their split, Klum replied, saying that she did not want to talk positively or negatively about the ups and downs of her marriage.

Still, later it was reported to be Seal’s inability to control his anger. 

The rumor of Klum’s infidelity also circulated after Seal’s statement in 2012, where he said of Klum that she could have shown some class and have waited at least until their divorce before deciding to fornicate.

The ex-couple was co-parenting all of their kids after their divorce, but the custody battle gradually worsened with the passing year. 

Heidi, in an interview, admitted co-parenting with her ex-husband to be hard as things were not rosy between them. 

Seal even claimed that there was no teamwork from the side of Klum when it came to co-parenting. 

In 2020, Klum filed for an emergency court hearing after Seal refused Klum to take their kids to Germany with her. 

While Seal blamed Klum for having a hidden agenda in taking their children to Germany. 

Seal later justified by saying he feared his children being exposed to the COVID-19 virus. 

Later, the couple reached a custody agreement allowing Klum to take their kids to Germany while Seal was given an expanded time with them before and after they went.

Johan has an older brother Henry Gunther Ademola Dashtu Samuel, 16, and a younger sister, Lou Sulola Samuel, 12, born to his parents, Heidi and Seal. 

His mother was full of praise while talking about them. She said that Johan resembles his dad, saying his dad is very hot and handsome.

They dated for eight months before Kaulitz popped the question with a teal sapphire ring and eventually married in February 2019. Kaulitz is 17 years younger than Klum.

Kaulitz has proved to be a good husband as well as an excellent stepdad to his four teenage stepkids.

While appearing on Jennifer Hudson Show back in 2023, she opened up about the possibility of having more children in her 50s. 

Klum, who is currently married to Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz when asked if she would ever have another baby, said she would have to think about it, explaining that it depends because it means a lot as she has given birth four times and has breastfed eight months each time and then was pregnant three times in a row again. 

“Now, I waited a long time, so it’s ya,” she added. 

During the same interview, she also talked about her father filming the birth of all four kids. 

She said her parents were all there when she gave birth to her kids. 

When she gave birth to her kids, she wanted to document it because she thought if they didn’t want to watch it, they could always toss it, but at least they have it, she expressed.

Besides that, she shared that not only her daughter Leni, who is following in her footsteps but also the other three kids grew up practicing their runway walk in her heels.
