Michael is a popular American professional basketball coach currently coaching the Denver Nuggets, one of the National Basketball Association (NBA). 

Previously, he had coached the Sacramento Kings and has been assistant coach of the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, New Orleans Hornets, and Golden State Warriors.

Basketball and coaching are in the blood of Michael. 

He followed his father, Brendan Malone's footsteps, who is the former head coach of the NBA, and used to play during his college days. 

He has played up to 107 games and has been a point guard for 39 of them. 

Later after completion of his graduation in history from Loyola University Maryland, he took a step towards the journey of coaching. 

His first job as a coach was at Friends School of Baltimore as an assistant high school coach.

Husband criticized the NBA policy

Her husband made a headline in September 2020 during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis for criticizing the NBA policy that did not allow the family of coaches to enter the bubble near Orlando, where the game season was resumed amid the corona pandemic. 

After four months in July, when the NBA started its operation at the Walt Disney World Sports Complex with strict safety protocols that do not allow coaches to meet and bring their family members, Michael denied accepting the policy and claimed that it was criminal. 

He feels that the NBA should be ashamed of that decision as coaches have family, and it was hard to live without them in such a deadly situation.

Blessed with two children

The couple is blessed with two daughters, Caitlin and Bridget Malone. They are pursuing their education in high school.
