Jocelyn Burgardt

Jocelyn Burgardt is a dancer best recognized for her relationship with one of the world's best strikers, Edinson Cavani. 

Burgardt is regular in the annual carnival in the Uruguayan city of Bella Union.

Burgardt was first linked with Cavani in 2014 after they were spotted together several times though Cavani confirmed his relationship only in 2018. 

The couple gave birth to their first child together, daughter India Cavani on the 17th of May, 2019. 

Their second child, son Silvestre, was born in June 2021. However, the couple is yet to get married.

Her partner's first marriage to his childhood sweetheart was a failure

Cavani was married to his childhood sweetheart Maria Soledad Cabris Yarrus. 

From their marriage union, they gave birth to their two sons, Bautista, born on the 22nd of March, 2011, and Lucas on the 8th of March, 2013. 

However, their marriage could not last long and ended in divorce in 2014 after seven years of marriage.

The infidelity from the side of Cavani ruined their marriage soon after the birth of their second son Lucas. 

The rumor of Cavani having an affair with an Italian journalist Maria Rosaria Ventrone swirled up after he was pictured placing his arm around her. 

Soledad, at the time, via different sources, said that she didn't trust her man and questioned if she needed to trust a husband who leaves behind his wife a few days after the birth of their child. 

She learned that her husband was with another girl when Lucas was born. Soledad also said she didn't want to abandon her kids from their father. 

Hence, she tried every possibility to save their marriage and claimed Cavani, by the time, had become a different and unrecognizable person.

On the other hand, Cavani, after the split, stated that he was divorcing his wife, not his children, and have always fulfilled his obligations towards them and also assured them that they have all they need now and in the future.

Her partner almost considered giving up football after she contracted COVID-19

Before his move to Manchester United, Cavani was on the verge of quitting his football career because of Burgardt, who had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Shortly after he departed from Paris Saint-Germain, Burgardt tested positive for the coronavirus. 

In an interview, Cavani confessed to nearly considering the idea of quitting football because, for him, his family is his priority. 

He also said that they have suffered through the coronavirus with his family and girlfriend, and when his girlfriend contracted the virus, it led him to serious worry.

Cavani bids an emotional farewell to Manchester United fans

Cavani played for Manchester United after he signed a one-year contract with the club in October 2020 with an option to extend for a further year. 

But it was a tough final season for Cavani as he managed to score only twice in a total of 20 appearances. 

On the 22nd of May, 2022, Ralf Rangnick, the interim manager, announced Cavani would be leaving after the expiry of his contract. 

Cavani, in a farewell interview, said that he sincerely has nothing to say but to express his gratitude towards the fans and the supporters of Manchester United who showered him with a lot of love and respect from the very day he arrived at the club.

He further added to say that he is very grateful to them for greatly recognizing all of the hard work he has always tried to put in the best way possible and would be leaving the club with a happy memory of that affection they showered upon him and always displayed.
