Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi met for the first time during a tournament. Andre Agassi had been secretly pining for her since 1990, but she showed no interest in him. 

At that time, Steffi Graf was dating Michael Bartels, a racing driver. 

They both won the singles event at Wimbledon in 1992, and while celebrating their victory, the officials did not allow him to dance with her. 

In 1997, he married Brooke Shields, actress, and model but their married life lasted for only two years.

Andre Agassi was a number one tennis player who has won the gold medal in Olympic in 1996. He won eight Grand Slam singles titles during his career.

He was born on 29 April 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Mike Agassi, Olympic boxer from Iran, and Elizabeth Agassi. 

He has three siblings, Philip Agassi, Rita Agassi and Tami Agassi.

He began his professional tennis career at the age of 16. He retired from tennis on 3 September 2006.

Her parents didn’t go out of their way to expose them to tennis and never imposed it on them.

Agassi, in his autobiography, expressed he never had a smooth relationship with his father growing up. 

He always had a love-hate relationship with tennis because of his father’s grueling training techniques. 

His father was always pushing his kids into tennis, and Agassi being the youngest, all sorts of pressures fell on him even if it was compromising relationships, but at the same time, he also had that lens to see what tennis was doing to the relationships and to the feelings inside the home which he resented at an early age. 

According to him, he resented it because he didn’t choose tennis, but his father imposed it on him. 

He was 13 when his father sent him to a tennis academy that was 3000 miles away from home. Again he felt abandoned, separated, and more resentful. 

The only way to get out of that environment was to succeed, and was always motivated by the anxiety and fear that didn’t go away even after turning pro. 

It didn’t go away even after he won because he was on a world stage, kind of being told who he was, and he didn’t even know who he was still at that time.

He said in an interview that he has parented his kids differently from his father and wouldn’t want that parenting experience on anyone he cared about because it came with its pains despite its intentions. 

He only cared about raising them in ways whereby he could share their lives without having to worry about their lives.

He added that at some point, his kids wanted to know what they did and tried it. They saw behind the curtain, and they knew the demons that were involved. 

He does not know if that influenced their decision not to be a part of tennis, but they were thankful that their kids didn’t show interest in tennis.
