Jayson Gruden

Jayson Gruden is famous as a son of the American Football Coach Jon Gruden, the Las Vegas Raiders’ head coach in the National Football League. 

Born to his athlete father, he has also chosen his career as an athlete but in different sports. He made his debut in Muay Thai Fighting in 2018.

Before Jon’s comeback in the NFL

Jon served as a head coach for Las Vegas  Raiders from 1998 to 2001. He became the head coach for Tampa Bay from 2002-2008. 

He became one of the youngest head coaches to win the Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XXXVII with Tampa Bay.

He stayed away from his coaching career for nine years and worked as an ESPN commentator before his comeback with Las Vegas Riders on the 6th of January, 2006.

How did his parents meet?

Jon and Cindy first met at Knoxville in the year 1987. At that time, John was a graduate student, and Cindy was a student at the University of Tennessee and a cheerleader. They eventually started dating. 

When Jon began coaching in Missouri and Stockton and Santa Clara, they were in a long-distance relationship. Their wedding took place on the 6th of July, 1991, and are separable since then. 

They became the supporting pillars for one another. When Jon was not earning much during the early phase, Cindy Gruden worked as an aerobic instructor for financial support.

One of his siblings is in the world of powerlifting

Jayson has an elder brother Deuce who is in the world of powerlifting. Initially, he took the family path playing Football from high school to college. 

He was already in love with strength training at College, and when he discovered powerlifting, he realized his actual dream. 

He has paved his path for himself as a powerlifter, having won a gold medal at the 2017 International Powerlifting Federation’s world-class championships in Belarus. 

He is currently on Oakland’s strength and conditioning assistant. His other brother Michael Gruden is a soccer player. Jon announced Michael’s debut as a freshman in Tennessee in 2018.

He is the nephew of Jay Gruden

He is the nephew of the football coach and former quarterback Jay Gruden. As a head coach for  Washington Redskins, he served for five years from 2014 to 2019. 

He has won four ArenaBowl as a player during his time in the Arena Football League.
