Jayne Atkinson is a British-American film, television, and theatre actress famous for portraying Karen Hayes on 24, BAU section chief Erin Strauss in CBS drama series Criminal Minds.

As a US Secretary of State, Catherine Durant in Netflix's political drama series House of Cards.

She was nominated twice for Tony Awards for her role, Lizzie Curry in The Rainmaker and Lotty Wilton in Enchanted April for best actress in a play. 

Married to the love of her life 

Jayne married the love of her life, Michel Gill. 

The couple first met in 1989, at the production of "The Heiress" at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven. 

They had a quick connection, but at the time, Atkinson was dating someone else.
