She explained that regarding the gender of him, he shared with his mother first but not his dad. 

Jay said his mom was in full support of him. Jay also said that she conveyed this message through text first and later in person when he got more comfortable. 

Jay shared that his mother had told him that she was always going to love him no matter what, and the same feeling goes with his sister too. 

Jay said that his sister, too, is proud of him and began calling him handsome and his little brother. 

However, Jay was scared to tell his dad as their relationship was already complicated at first. 

Jay also revealed that his dad probably know about this. However, Jay suggested LGBT community be themselves, even if they are scared, nervous, or worried. 

He also revealed wanting to have the surgery, but for that, he had to wait for a number of years. 

To date, his father has not made any comments on these revelations.

R. Kelly is a religious man

Many of you might not know, but the artist is religious. He follows the Christian religion. 

Well, his dad was not present in his life then, but his mom was a church choir singer in the Baptist church. 

Kelly shared that he had been raised singing in the choir. Other than that, he also once shared that he had a bullet in his shoulder. 

Actually, while he was just 11 years of age, he was riding back on his bicycle. 

There was a group of boys who tried to steal his bike and shot him, but one of his family friends said that the artist tried to shoot himself in order to try to suicide. 

The bullet is still on his shoulder today.
