Izabel and her husband had met at church while they were still in their teenage years. 

Her spouse was born to Bosnian-Croat parents in Austria. He lived there for many years before his whole family shifted back to Zagreb. 

Mateo as a child, used to visit St. Anthony church at Padua, located in Sesvete. 

While visiting the church, he met his future partner Izabel there. 

It’s been stated that Izabel was known as a choir girl, whereas Mateo was an altar boy. Mateo still visits church every weekend till now.

A Five-star wedding

The pair dated each other for years before being officially together in 2017. 

The couple had chosen the same church as their wedding location where they met for the first time. 

The bride was clad in a plain white off-shoulder gown. She kept the hair middle-parted with a slightly lifted puff with a loose curl.

Mother of a child

In a three years gap, Izabel with hubby Mateo experienced parenthood for the very first time. 

She gave birth to a son whom they named Ivan. She delivered her baby at Zagreb’s Petrova hospital. 

She updated her social media with his picture, captioning that Ivan is wonderfully created, loved, and equally precious.

Mateo Kovacic loved football since childhood

Mateo is a well-known name in the football world. Getting to know how the young Mateo had found his passion for football. 

His father was the bread earner for the family, so he was busy earning money to bring the food to the table. 

That’s why his mother stood up and took him to the football training session.

He claims it is the only thing he loved the most and the game he felt most comfortable with. 

Mateo shared that when he is on the pitch, he feels free, so football only came to his mind when people asked what he really wanted to be when he grew up. 

Mateo was fast than other kids when he was just five years old. 

He also recalls that while playing football at that time, he felt more comfortable with the ball than other kids around and loved the game more than the others. 

Mateo always takes positive things from the coaches and admitted that he had been trained by numerous great coaches when he was young. 

Mateo then remembers what his dad said to him, which was to enjoy and not put any pressure on himself, and slowly everything will be good. 

Lastly, he claims that “Enjoy” is the key word for him. Also, for him, he adores football so much that he had never felt it as a sacrifice. 

For Mateo, it was always the pleasure to go on a pitch or to go on a training every day, whether for two, three, four, or even more hours. 

Mateo says that he feels happy to just attend the game. 

Lastly, Mateo also revealed that he got injured in the middle, which stopped him from playing for at least a year and returning at such an age was tough for him. 

Therefore, as a football player, he gave everything to come back even stronger, and he accepted the fact that he is now much stronger physically and mentally.
