Ivan Hasek

Ivan Hasek is a professional football manager and former football player. He currently is the head coach of the Czech national football team. 

He started his playing career in 1970 and hung his boot in 1998. He is also a lawyer and studied law in the 1980s.

From their marital bliss, they welcomed two children together. 

They welcomed their first child, a son, on June 27, 1983, and named him Pavel Hasek. 

They then welcomed their second child, also a son, on August 30, 1987, and named him Ivan Hasek Jr. 

Both his sons followed in his footsteps and are footballers. 

Pavel plays for Bohemians 1905 in the Czech Republic whereas Ivan Jr. plays in the Czech First League. They both play from the position of midfielder. 

They are already grandparents to their grandchildren. Both his sons have their respective partners and are parents of their children.

His career 

Ivan spent 21 years as a player. He started his playing career with ZOM Nymburk youth team in 1970 and played with the club until 1977. 

He then joined the youth team of Sparta Prague in 1977 and played with the team until 1981. 

He started his senior career with Sparta Prague in 1981 and played with the club until 1990. 

He then played for Strasbourg from 1990 to 1994, Sanfrecce Hiroshima from 1994 to 1995, JEF United Ichihara in 1996, and Sparta Prague from 1996 to 1998. 

He also played internationally with the Czechoslovakia national football team from 1984 to 1993 and the Czech national football team in 1994. 

He also played in the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He started his managerial career in 1999 with Sparta Prague. 

He then managed Strasbourg, Vissel Kobe, Gobel, Al Wasl, Saint-Etienne, Al-Ahli, Al-Hilal, Qatar SC, Fujairah, Emirates Club, and Lebanon. 

He took charge of the Czech national football team on July 7, 2009, until the 2010 World Cup qualifiers. 

He again took charge of the Czech national football team in 2024.

He took over Czech for Euro 2024 

The Czech national football team qualified for Euro 2024 by finishing second in the qualifying group by winning over Moldova by 3-0 on the final day. 

The head coach of Czech at the time, Jaroslav Silhavy, had to resign after facing criticism from fans and controversy surrounding some of the players in the team. 

Ivan then took charge of the Czech national football team on January 4, 2024. 

He then made his debut with the national team against Norway and Armenia and won both the game. Ivan announced his squad for Euro 2024 in May 2024. 

They will be facing Portugal on June 18, 2024, Georgia on June 22, 2024, and Turkey on June 27, 2024 in Germany.
