Hildegard Low is famous as the mother of Joachim Low, a German football coach, and a former player. She is currently residing in a retirement home near Freiburg

She calls her son by his full name Joachim while others call him Jogi. Hildegard lost her husband when Joachim was in his teenage years. Joachim is the head coach of the German national team. 

Joachim to resign from the post after Euro 2020

Joachim, who has been the head coach for the German national team since 2006, publicly announced that he would be resigning from the post after Euro 2020

His contract lasted until the 2022 World Cup but requested an early departure to the DFB. He announced on 9th March 2021

He recalled having triumphs with the team and the painful defeats and the wonderful and magic moments with them.  

He also added that he is and will always be grateful to the DFB who provided him and his team a favorable environment. 

He led the victory at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup with his team. Who will take the position after Low is still a question.

Who was her husband?

The name of her husband is not known, but he was a very hard-working person. He worked as a master stove fitter. His 20 employees worked under him at the time. 

Joachim was passionate about football from the early days, and his late father supported his passion. 

According to Joachim, he used to be on the board of TuS Schonau and was present at every game on the sports field. 

As a result, he was more into football while his mother made sure they did his homework. 

Single mother to her four sons

Hildegard became a single-doting mother to her four sons after her husband's death. They were born in Schonau

She gave birth to her eldest son Joachim on 3rd February 1960. Her other three sons are Markus, Peter, and Christopher

Her second son Markus is a year younger than Joachim, a former footballer, and a current manager. 

He played for SC Freiburg, SV Sandhausen, and FV 09 Weinheim as a midfielder and defender during his playing career. 

Her other son Peter who goes by Pit, owns a restaurant under the name SC Schonau located in Schonau.

Joachim separated from his wife of 30 years

Joachim separated from his wife of 30 years, Daniela Low. Joachim was 17, and Daniela was 15 when they first met. 

The couple married in 1986 after dating for eight years.  After nearly four decades of togetherness, they decided to split. 

The reason behind their split is still unknown. Although they parted their ways, they do share a respectful and cordial relationship. 

The couple does not share any children. Hildegard is close to both Joachim and Daniela.

Joachim started his playing career as an attacking midfielder in 1978 with Sc Freiburg, followed by various other teams like VfB Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Schaffhausen, etc. before his managerial career in 1994
