Hellen Fo Sieeuw is the proud mother of Virgil van Dijk, a Dutch professional footballer who plays a center-back for Premier Club Liverpool

Only defender to win UEFA Men's player of the year

Virgil has come along a long road working hard from being a kid to a young player breaking into the first team to win the Champions League

He is also the first defender to win the trophy for Men's Player of the Year for UEFA.

Son ignore his father's last name

Usually, it is common for footballers to use their last names on the jersey they wear as the identity of the family. But Hellen's son does not apply it.

He only uses his first name and ignores the last name of his father in Liverpool shirt because of his traumatizing relation with his dad.

His dad left him and his mother at an early age and was not around him for so many years. His absence made them suffer, for which he has not been able to forgive.

Further, he was also offended by his father when his father rejected the invitation of him in his match.

Turbulent married life

Hellen was married to Ron van Dijk, a TV installer, but they had a turbulent married life, which ended in divorce.

It seems a family feud that has raged since their divorce is still not at its end.

Ron accused her family of only taking an interest in Virgil's football once he started earning big money.

She also has a daughter from the relationship, Jennifer Fo Sieeuw. Jennifer has not been in the spotlight much and stays away from media attention.

After splitting from husband, Hellen struggled for the survival of kids

Hellen's son, Virgil, was just 12 years old when she was separated from her husband. Her husband left the family in turmoil, which was something unbearable.

All the responsibilities of her three kids came upon her shoulder, and she alone had to struggle for the survival of her kids.

As a result, she had to do a full-time job, and her everyday schedule was going to work, coming home, look after kids, and do all the cooking.

She never had a single minute for herself. It was his mother who contributed a lot to give a great life to Virgil. Thus, she is a real hero for Virgil.

Wedding to childhood sweetheart

Hellen's son, Virgil, held his wedding to his childhood sweetheart Rike Nooitgedagt

Rike worked as a fashion sales manager but later resigned her job in 2013 to support her partner with Celtic

The couple is blessed with one beautiful daughter. They welcomed her in 2014 and named her Nila van Dijk.

Virgil requested his partner Rike to go for induction labor.

The reason for it was because he was called by Netherland national team, and he would not have been able to attend the birth and also didn't want to miss.

Rike agreed with his request as it was her partner's dream to play for the national team.
