In November 2020, she sang The Wizard and I from the Broadway musical Wicked via her Instagram account, and on her 24th birthday, her dad shared a sweet video of father-daughter time where they were singing together.
Gracie received a lot of praises for her incredible voice.
She, along with her two younger siblings, have made their parents super proud
Gracie is the eldest of her two younger sisters, Maggie, 23, and Audrey, 19. Maggie Elizabeth McGraw graduated with a master's degree in Sustainability Science and Practice from Stanford University.
Audrey is into acting and modeling. She made her acting debut in her dad's recent music video for the song "7500 OBO".
Her father admitted to being proud of his daughters for being so grounded, humble and for their hard work to accomplish what they wanted.
He also said he and his wife couldn't ask for better kids and are way smarter than them.
As a father, Tim thinks that they have done a pretty decent job, especially Faith, in raising their three strong, independent, strong-minded young women and is grateful how much they respect themselves and others.
Her parents on becoming an empty nester
Tim and Faith, married in 1996 after their first meeting in 1994 in the Country Radio Seminar.
From two, they gradually became five, giving birth to their three daughters, who are now grown-ups.
Gracie and Maggie moved out of the home to be independent after completing their master's degree in 2020, leaving their parents and younger sister at their family home in Nashville.
A year later, Audrey also left home to pursue her acting career, and the couple became an empty nester.
Though they are still a tight-knit family and talk to one another every time, it's not easy when children leave home suddenly, not needing them much anymore, says McGraw.
Initially, it became difficult for the couple since they were used to parenting their kids from getting up in the morning to taking kids to school, to basketball practices, cheerleader practices, softball practices, and all and with the youngest leaving home, all of the things in which they were used to were gone.
Tim confessed to missing afternoons when his beloved wife would be cooking before the kids return from school, and their kids, after returning from school, would come full of excitement and energy smelling what their mom had cooked for their dinner, but suddenly it has all gone.
It's difficult for them, especially for Faith, who decided to prioritize parenting over her career while their kids were young and spent ten to fifteen years raising them, which she describes being the best part.
But above all, what makes them satisfied and happy is that all of their three daughters are finding their way in the world.
A funny incident about her first date
Tim shared the funny incident of Gracie's first date in "The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon."
He said when Gracie was going out on her first date, he was on a road working. He got a call saying that Gracie was going out on a date and asked him if he would mind if she went out before he met the guy?
Faith also said that she met him and found him a good guy and had done all the research.
Then said they could go out but wanted the guy to meet him around noon the next day so that he could say hi to him, looking him in the eyes and shaking hands.
So he got home at 2 in the morning. It went out of his mind that he was seeing Gracie's boyfriend that day.
They were doing barbeque, and Tim was in the kitchen in a white apron trimming meat.
He had chunks of meat all over his white apron, blood everywhere and the doorbell rings.
He went to answer the door and in front of the door was Gracie's boyfriend. He said he had knife in his hand, and he was all covered with blood. Humorously he ended by saying, "It worked well."
