Gina Sasso is famous as an ex-spouse of the late American actor and comedian Thomas Mikal Ford, who is best known for his portrayal of Thomas "Tommy" Strawn on the hit Fox sitcom Martin.

Sasso first met her future husband, Ford, during a business trip. They soon fell for each other and got married to Ford in April 1997. 

They were residing in Los Angeles before moving to Kendall, Florida, around 2001.

Her ex-husband, who is also a father of her two kids, passed away on the 12th of October at the age of just 52. 

The cause of his death was a ruptured abdominal aneurysm. He died at Atlanta Hospital just after two weeks of his knee surgery.

Before his death, he was in a relationship with his girlfriend, actress, and model, Viviane Brazil, with whom he started dating soon after his divorce. 

They were residing in Atlanta and were together until his final breath. Brazil still posts pictures of them together, reminiscing their time together.

In his last interview, Ford talked about death, which seemed he knew he was likely to leave this world. 

In a video obtained by TMZ, he was saying that more than half of his life is over. He got more years behind him than he has ahead of him. 

Half of his life is over, and he is OK with that, he said in an interview with Xcellence Community Magazine founder Angella Banks.

It’s not about how much he got left, It’s how much he accomplished while he was there, he said in recorded audio.

When did Ford realize that acting was his true calling?

Born in Los Angeles to his mother, a school secretary, and father, a pipe fitter, Ford realized at an early age that acting was his true calling though he, as a child, wanted to be a preacher. 

While growing up in Long Beach, California, he went to Christian schools from pre-school to all the way up until he was a freshman in high school. 

His teachers put him in the play while in eighth grade for a farewell performance for the rest of the students. 

According to Ford, his folks forgot the line, they forgot the props, and everything was wrong, but he still fell in love with it because it was just very natural to him, and he knew acting was what he wanted to do, but the transition only happened after he finished college. 

He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting from the University of Southern California.
