Gabrielle Esther Nnomo Mballa

Gabrielle Esther Nnomo Mballa is the celebrity wife of Cameroonian-born former professional footballer and current manager of Cameroon national team, Rigobert Song. 

The turning point in Song’s career

Song still remembers the day he pleaded in tears with his trainer for a chance after he was asked to leave during his first year at Ecole de football Brasseries du Cameroon because he was not talented. 

But when his trainer agreed and asked him to come back, he worked double, became a captain at all levels, and graduated as a major. 

Though he was among the least talented footballer, he had incredible gifts and wisdom that the talented footballers didn’t have, making him the national team captain for a decade.

When he graduated from Ecole de football Brasseries du Cameroon, he decided to return to Yaounde because he was too small to play elite football, which became the reason for his frustration, and almost gave up on his dreams and became a street child. 

He ended up being a street child in Bafoussam and slept in the carton for two weeks. 

But one day, he decided to follow a group of people jogging that landed him at the stadium and eventually became their ball boy. 

The luck was in his favor as one of the teams was incomplete when it was the time to play, and the coach asked him to make up the number. 

The coach was so impressed by him that he took him to his home, and later the coach with his wife adopted him. 

He stayed in Bafoussam, played with the Red Stars of Bangou, gave his best shot, and got preselected for the national team to represent the West Region.

Married to her husband 

Mballa has been happily married to her husband since 2005. The couple is in marital bliss with no signs of divorce. They are currently residing in Liverpool.

Her wedding took place in the hall of acts at the City Hall of Yaounde.

To celebrate their big day and give their blessings and warm wishes for their new life, all of their families, friends, relatives, and VIPs, including the deputy mayor of Yaounde I, Emile Andze Andze were present. 

After their civil wedding, their religious wedding took place at Notre Dame Des Victoires Cathedral.

Mother of her four beautiful children

Mballa is the mother of her four beautiful children as a result of her marriage to Song. 

They have two sons, Ronny and Bryan, and two daughters, Yohanna Bernadette and Hillary Veronique Liliane.

Her husband survived a near-death experience.

It was back in October 2016 when Song was rushed to hospital in Yaounde after he suffered a stroke at home that resulted in a brain aneurysm and was in a coma for two days. 

The rumor of his death at the time circulated. But God heard the prayers of his family and entire fans and saved his life. 

In an interview, while recounting his near-death experience, he said his blood pressure was up at like 25, and it felt like his head was exploding. 

Luckily he had left his door open because he was waiting for a visitor; otherwise, if the door had been closed, he would have died. 

He was unaware of what was happening to him and that he was fighting between life and death.

His dog started barking, which alerted the landlord, who soon called the ambulance. He said when he woke up from the coma, he weighed only 60 kilos. 

While in the coma, he said he saw his dead father, whom he lost while he was young. His dead father, upon seeing him, said,

”Rigobert!! What are you doing here? Come!!! It was indeed was a difficult situation.

Furthermore, he added that his fans, especially his family, had already put God in trouble, asking in prayers not to take Rigobert. 

Song later thanked everyone for making him come back.
