All to know about her marriage with an actor

Starting from the very beginning, Frances and Don were friends for almost two decades before being officially together.

The individual's first meeting was in the late 1980s. During that meeting, Frances was in her twenties while her former husband Don was in his sixties.

The age gap between them was not a problem and had created a strong bond then.

They tied the knot in the year 2002 in an intimate way with the presence of only his close friends and family members.

The pair were together until the demise of Don. However, despite being together for a long, they don’t have any kids of their own.

Other than that, as mentioned earlier, Frances wasn’t his first wife as Don had married twice before. Going into detail, his first wife was Kathryn Metz

They married in the year 1947 but departed their ways in 1964. Thomas Knotts and Karen Knotts were their children.

Later in the year 1974, he tied the knot with Loralee Czuchna. Sadly, they also went their own way after being together for whole nine years.

Death bed to laugh?

Her daughter shared that while her dad was on his deathbed, she had to run out of the room in order to laugh.

Sadly, Don passed away due to suffering from pulmonary and respiratory complications.

Currently, his daughter is writing a memoir and is preparing for a show which is titled Tied Up in Knotts

She recalled that her dad has funniness which was totally natural. She remembered how his late dad made everyone laugh until his last breath too.

Karen told that Don was dying there but still he said something for which she and her stepmother had to go out of the room in order to laugh.

But she did realize that she has one regret about one of her final moments with his father.

Howard Storm had told her that when his dad was saying a joke, Karen should have stayed back and laughed out loud as it is the thing that all comedians want.

Don Knotts didn’t feel free. Why?

It’s been said that his home life had been a constant terror, however, things got better when he entered his teenage years.

Karen shared that when her dad was thirteen years old, his father died. At that point in time, that big burden lifted him off.

Nevertheless, he was old enough, that he was able to control his other brother, so as a result he was no longer terrorized.

But Don recalled his youth in a different way. He shared he felt like a loser, and unhappy more often. He hated being terribly poor.

During his early teens, he turned toward a friend named Danny. Danny is said to be a ventriloquist's dummy, and with that same dummy, he began performing.
