His coaching career so far

In his three seasons with the club, he led the club to La Liga in his first season.

After Elche's Administrative relegation, he was appointed the manager of Getafe CF but was sacked from the post after a season.

He joined the Spanish club Villarreal in August 2016. In his first season, he successfully led the club to fifth position and further to the qualification to the UEFA Europa League.

However, he was dismissed from his post after Villarreal placed 14th in La Liga.

Out of the total of six games, they won against Real Betis, and Alaves and lost to Levante and Real Sociedad and drew with Espanyol

They suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Getafe. After his departure, he joined Celta but was sacked after four consecutive defeats

At the same time, the club also felt that he was unable to change course, which also became another reason for his dismissal.

He returned to his former club Elche in February 2021. Escriba saved Elche from relegation with a 2-0 home victory over Athletic Bilbao.

His dismissal from the Getafe was the most hurtful one

To date, Escriba has been dismissed thrice. When asked about his most hurtful dismissal, Escriba's answer was Getafe

He said Getafe was only the place where he did not feel control of the dressing room.

He was hurt by the fact that the coaches should have the privilege of the dressing room, whatever may be the relationship with the president or the press, which he did not get even in the good times.

According to Escriba, he was comfortable at Villarreal and still have a good relationship with the club people. He still has players he worked with.
