Fausto Xavier Aguilera is famous as the father of five-time Grammy Awards and one-time Latin Grammy Award winner, American singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera.

Finally, she made the courage to leave him for the security of her kids. Later she remarried her second husband, Jim Kearns, in 1991, with whom she shares a son Michael Kearns.

He did not deny being abusive to his then-wife but denied being abusive to his two daughters, Christina and Rachel.

In 2018, in an interview, his brother Johann who resides with him in Staten Island, New York, said that his brother Fausto has not been able to mend his now-fractured relationship with his daughter.

Christina has been outspoken about growing up in an abusive household and the physical abuse her mother endured from her father. 

While appearing on the Kelly Clarkson show back in 2020, she described her childhood to be chaotic, with lots of moving from one place to another. 

Since her father was in the army, there was a lot of shifting. They lived in Japan for three years. 

Christina, while appearing on the “Call her daddy” podcast, said while they were in Japan, they were super isolated. 

She recalled hearing abuse just happening on the other side of the wall but not getting the help that was needed even after calling the authorities, which according to her, is terrifying. 

It was during that time she started singing to herself. 

She will always remember the image of her singing out of the window, just like there is hope on the other side. 

At an early age, she felt that there was something on the other side, a bigger world, a bigger purpose on the other side. It’s like a core memory, she said.

She, even at this age, has not been able to heal from the trauma of seeing her mom being abused by her father. She said,

”Having so much compassion for my mother and seeing someone you love being hurt, I still, at 42, affected by it. It’s under the surface. Trauma never leaves you”.

According to her, it’s therapeutic to speak about it, having seen her mom going through so much that it instilled a level of purpose for her to empower other people and people in situations where they feel voiceless and unheard. 

She also confessed to doing a lot of healing and releasing a lot of energy that comes in the form of shame and anger, explaining that it takes a lot of time in the healing process, especially for the woman. 

The past incident has made her more protective of her own kids, especially her daughter Summer Rain, she said. 

“It’s why I am so adamant with my daughter. I am just like, the first time somebody ever hits you, the first time somebody makes you feel not right about yourself- I am so protective, Mama Bear, she added.
