Elisabeth Klopp

Elisabeth Klopp was the mother who gave birth to one of the world's greatest managers, Jurgen Klopp, who is currently the manager of premier league club Liverpool.

Married life 

She was happily married to her beloved husband Norbert Klopp, a traveling salesman, a former goalkeeper. 

They got married in the year 1960. After the marriage, they resided in the German Black Forest village of Glatten and raised their children.

Her husband never got to see his son's success as a great manager  

Her husband aspired to become a professional footballer, which did not happen because his father did not allow him to think it was not an appropriate career option. 

He was offered a professional contract at 18. He died in the year 2000 at the age of 66 following the cancer battle. 

It was just four months before Jurgen became a manager. 

Talking about his father, Jurgen said that his father was always proud when he played for Mainz though he was not a good player. 

It is still hard for him from time to time to accept, and he also regrets that his father never got to see him succeed as a manager and win the Champions League and Premier League with Liverpool.

Mother to her three children  

She became a mother to her three children with her husband, Norbert. Jurgen is the youngest and only son. 

Her other two daughters are Isolde Reich and Stefanie Klopp. 

Stefanie, the eldest one, was born in 1960, Isolde in 1962, and Jurgen on the 16th of January, 1967.

Jurgen could not attend her funeral

She was the woman who was meant to be everything for her son Jurgen. 

It was double devastating for her Jurgen when she passed away, and he could not attend her funeral as well. 

She passed away on the 19th of January,2021, at the age of 81, and due to pandemic-related travel rules, Jurgen was unable to attend her funeral in Germany. 

However, he has decided to hold a commemoration once it is appropriate. He last visited her on her 80th birthday in Germany.
