Dontay Banks was sent to prison on a d*ug-related case when Durk was only seven months old. 

His father was punished after he was convicted for distributing stuff through South Side Chicago. 

His father was locked up for d*ugs for 22 years; Durk added. Despite being in prison, he talked with him every day. 

He also mentioned that New Chicago law would allow him to set free in a couple of years. 

He even added that his father was not caught on d*ugs instead locked him because Dontay didn't snitch on Larry Hoover.

His manager, who was safe from being shot, commented that there is no police participation behind the murder of King Von. 

McArthur Swindle, a performer of OTF Nunu, also the cousin of Durk, was shot in Chatham on Saturday while he was in a parking lot when someone offered him a foot and fired shots at him. 

Likewise, Durk's friend was also shot and found dead outside the studio.

After all, it started with social media

Like many other artists today, Durk also got his first start through social media. 

He didn't have any intentions, but randomly he did upload many videos on YouTube and Myspace. 

He got recognition for his talent through the videos. 

Moreover, the artist was not engaged in any training and had practiced through the videos that appeared on the television.

Well, the advice he would like to give to all the Black single fathers out there trying to raise their kids is that take care of your children, you gonna have the mommas that’s hating, but at the same time, you should be taking care of your kids. 

Because sometimes the mommas don’t be tripping. Also, claiming that people really don’t care about their kids. 

Also, speaking about how he balances his personal life, he says that his personal life will get him through his music, as long as a person is straight, he can get through it.
