Back in 2022, there had been a restraining order filed against Ricky Martin in Puerto Rico by an anonymous person before it was revealed that the person accusing him was Sanchez.
Sanchez accused him of domestic abuse and inc**t.
He also claimed he had a relationship with his uncle, which ended after seven months, further accusing him of stalking him, constantly calling, and harassing him even after the breakup.
Following the accusations, Martin's people came out supporting Martin, including Sanchez's other uncle Eric Martin (brother of Ricky), claiming that Sanchez is having mental issues and has been institutionalized.
Eric Martin said that there is absolutely no truth to his allegations, and he is someone who needs mental and emotional help.
He later dropped the case
Sanchez later dropped the case, and on his request, a Puerto Rican judge officially dismissed the restraining order.
A few hours later, after the case was dropped, Ricky Martin opened up about the allegations made against him in a video recording obtained by NBC.
Martin said he was not allowed to defend himself for two weeks because he was following a procedure where the law obligated him not to talk until he was in front of the judge and got those claims were proven to be false.
He said that it had been painful and devastating not only for him but his entire family and friends.
Martin expressed he has nothing against the person (Sanchez) who made such allegations but wished for the best.
He said that the person that was claiming that nonsense wishes him the best and that he finds help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth as well as he doesn't hurt anybody else.
His uncle filed a $20 million lawsuit against him
Soon after the allegations of having an inc**tuous relationship with his uncle, his uncle, in response, slammed him with a $20 million lawsuit in San Juan for trying to exterminate his reputation and for causing him and his family to feel unsafe.
According to the court documents obtained by Deadline, the accusations caused him to suffer the loss of a million dollars because his future projects and contracts were canceled.
"The pecuniary damages caused as a result of these actions are quantified in an amount not less than $10 million", the document read.
The document also stated that his actions caused damage to Martin's reputation as he had been relishing an impeccable reputation earned through his successful musical career spanning nearly forty years, and such damages to the plaintiff's reputation are quantified at the date of the filing of the lawsuit in an amount not less than $20 million.
Sanchez is the son of Martin's sister
Sanchez is the son of Martin's paternal half-sister, Vanessa Martin.
Martin was born to his father, Enrique Martin Negroni, a former psychologist, and his mother, Nereida Morales, a former accountant.
