Dennis Depay is the father of Dutch footballer Memphis Depay. Memphis was born to Dutch mother, Cora Schensema, and a Ghanaian father, Dennis Depay.
He was born in the small village of Moordrecht. Dennis also had two daughters Geoffrey and Georgina, before Memphis from his previous relationship.
How Dennis Depay met Memphis' mom
Dennis was an African immigrant from Cape Coast, the central region of Ghana. He left Ghana at the age of 23.
Dennis moved to Moordrecht, Holland, where he met with a local girl Cora Schensema at a train station in search of a better life.
Although Cora's parents did not support their relationship they eventually got married in 1990. Memphis is the only child of Dennis and Cora, born after four years of their marriage.

Relationship with the family
Dennis left the family when Memphis was four years old. Memphis even dropped his last name from the back of his shirt.
However, Dennis says there are lies spread about Memphis's childhood on how he abandoned him.
Dennis also says that he was the man to give Memphis his first ball. Even after the divorce from his wife, Dennis could see him whenever he wanted. The divorce was tragic on Dennis as well.
Dennis also bought Memphis many clothes and footballs and was always visiting him even after the divorce with Memphis' mom.
Memphis' football career
According to Memphis' father, he loved swimming and football in his childhood, but he loved football the most.
So, at the age of 6, Memphis joined a local academic club in the hometown of Moordrecht, where he got trained for three years.
He played with Sparta Rotterdam from 2003 to 2006 and later moved to PSV Eindhoven.
After playing five years in the youth team, Memphis got his first professional contract with PSV in 2011. The Dutch right-footed forward built his career remarkably while he was in PSV.
After an outstanding season in 2014 and World Cup 2014, Memphis was signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe, Manchester United, in June 2015.
Depay was among the few players in the club to wear an iconic number 7 shirt which was previously worn by famous football legends like David Beckham, Eric Cantona, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
On 20 January 2017, Depay transferred to a French club Olympique Lyonnais and is currently playing for the club.
Memphis represented the Netherlands at bigger competitions like FIFA World Cup, Euro Cup, also at different levels, including U-17, U-19, and U-21.

Memphis' career besides footballer
Depay started his hip-hop career by releasing a freestyle, "LA Vibes," featuring his teammate from Netherlands national team, Quincy Promes.
After uploading on YouTube, more than 150,000 people viewed his video within a few hours.
Memphis, in an interview, has said that he wants to move to the music industry after he retires from his footballing career.
He has released various freestyles, non-album singles, and few albums which are liked by millions of people in the world.
He also owns an online clothing store featuring his brand Memphis Depay Clothing.
He kept one of his goal celebrations as the brand logo and constantly promots his clothing on his different social media platforms.
Depay's Love Life
Memphis and Karrueche Tientrese Tran dated each other in past. Tran is an American personality once famous for being an on-and-off girlfriend of Chris brown.
After their relationship ended, later in June 2017, Memphis announced his engagement on social media with Lori Harvey.
Lori is the youngest daughter of famous American television personality Steve Harvey. After being in a relationship for a year, they got separated.
Memphis is currently dating Chloe Bailey, an American actress.
