Married a year later, they got engaged

The couple had been dating since 2014 before Neves popped the question in a romantic setting back in May 2018. 

Neves shared the news via his social media account, writing, "She said yes." '

He shared the pictures of them on the boat celebrating their day with a glass of champagne.

Neves, in an interview, said 2018 was the most important year because they won the championship, which had been his dream, and he got engaged to his girlfriend. 

The couple married in an intimate ceremony in 2019. They share three beautiful kids, a daughter Margarida and two sons, Martim and Mateo.

Neves watched the birth of their third child through his phone

Lourenco flew to Portugal to give birth to their third child on the 30th of January, 2021, but despite wanting to be by her side, Neves was unable to because he could have missed the matches due to the quarantine rules, and he didn't want to miss matches. 

Though he was not by her side, he watched her delivery facetiming her after staying on the bench during the game with Crystal Palace.

Neves revealed he watched it on his phone when they were coming back from Crystal Palace and admitted it to not be easy for him to be not there for an amazing moment.

He also revealed the reason behind their decision to have a baby in Portugal.

According to him, Lourenco had a problem with their first baby, and they always wanted the same doctor for her, who is from Portugal.

He said it's his job to play so he preferred to stay there otherwise he would have to stay out of two or three games.

The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Margarida in 2017, the same year Neves joined Wolves. 

At the time of her birth, Neves flew to Portugal the day after the first day of the season to be with Lourenco. 

Talking about fatherhood, he said becoming a father is an incredible feeling which cannot be described in words, and also, it is one of the best things one can do. 

The responsibility his parents gave him to grow and learn fast helped him shape who he is today

Neves was born in Mozelos to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jose Neves. He was raised alongside his younger sister, Vanessa, in a middle-class household. 

As an avid fan of FC Porto, Neves was eight when he joined the club's youth system. 

At 17, he made his first-team debut and, at 18, became the youngest captain in Champions League history, contributing his side Porto to a 2-0 victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv before he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers.

To date, he has appeared in more than 200 games in England having won the EFL championship in his first season. 

He made his senior international debut for Portugal national team at 18.

Neves credits his parents for a reason behind his mature personality and says he has always been like that. 

He said he was always like that because of his parents, who gave him the responsibility to grow and learn fast.

According to him, his father went to Spain to work for three years when he was just nine and only saw him once a month which was difficult. 

He was in Portugal with his mom and his younger sister which probably helped him be how he is. 

He had in his mindset that he had to take care of them that sort of developed maturity from a young age.
