Cydney Bernard

Cydney Bernard is a production manager and producer best known for having a long-term relationship with Academy-award-winning actress and filmmaker Jodie Foster.

Cydney is known for The Client (1994), Bean (1997), and L.A. Story (1991). She is the younger sister of production manager and producer Dustin Bernard.

They were in a relationship for 15 years

Cydney and Jodie first met on the set of Sommersby in 1992 when Cydney was working as a production coordinator. 

They started dating the following year. They had two sons, Charles and Christopher (Kit), born in 1998 and 2001, respectively. 

Jodie acknowledged Cydney during an acceptance speech in 2007 while receiving the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at the 16th annual Women in Breakfast. 

"My beautiful Cydney, who sticks with me through all the rotten and bliss," she said while thanking her. 

It was the first time she publicly acknowledged Cydney. However, their relationship came to an end after 15 years of relationship. They split in 2008.

Cydney and Jodie remain close friends after the break-up and have been co-parenting their two sons.

During an interview with the Guardian in 2018, Jodi expressed that she was never interested in a career for a career's sake. 

She just wanted to tell the stories she found interesting and wasn't very good at playing the girlfriend, so she never did that, she said.

Jodi said she and Cydney keep their sons out of the spotlight, which, according to her, was their conscious decision. 

She said she knows the perils of having a parent involved in art form are too great. 

Their older son is getting more interested in acting, and she is glad that he discovered it late, while their younger son is shy, so he will never be an actor, she added.

Jodie has been married to an actress and photographer, Alexandra Hedison, since 2014. 

They dated for a year before tying the knot in April 2014 in a secret ceremony. 

Alexandra was previously in a relationship with comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

Jodie and Alexandra were captured in a sweet moment back in 2021 when Jodie received a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her movie The Mauritanian. 

Sharing her excitement, she planted a kiss on Alexandra's lips while accepting the award from home. 

Both Jodie and Alexandra were sitting on the sofa with their pet dog when actress Jamie Lee Curtis announced her name.
