Courtney Rivera is famous as a celebrity daughter of American Football Coach Ron Rivera, who is currently the head coach for the Washington Football Team of NFL. 

Courtney is a producer for the Washington Football Team's digital department. She graduated majoring in Psychology from UCLA. 

While in UCLA, she played for the UCLA Bruins Softball team as a pitcher and worked as a social media assistant at Carolina Panthers.

Ron received the NFL coach of the year award for the third time

Ron, who is popular with his nickname Riverboat Ron for taking calculated risks, was awarded The Committee of 101 NFC Coach of the year for the third time in July 2021. It is the first award with Washington Football Team. 

He was previously awarded in 2013 and 2015 as the head coach for Carolina Panthers. He led the Carolina Panthers to Super Bowl 50 and consecutively won three NFC South titles from 2013 to 2015.

Courtney grew up in a pro athletes family where her father, Ron, is a veteran football coach, and her mother, Stephanie Rivera, is currently the head coach of the Women's basketball team at Cathedral. 

She is a former WNBA coach. They first met while they were student-athletes for the California Bears. She was a point guard for the California Bears while he was a star linebacker on the football team. 

They eventually hit off and started dating after they met continuously for three days for the pick-up basketball. Ron initiated first, asking Stephanie for the date on the third day of the game. 

It took just four months for the marriage proposal. They got married in 1984 and are still together as a power couple.

Her father officially beat cancer

Ron was diagnosed with Squamous cell cancer in his lymph nodes in 2020. He was unaware of the symptoms at first. He thought he had strained his neck, but later, he found the little bump on his neck while shaving. 

After having known about the disease, they were going through treatments consulting different specialists. Since it was discovered at an early stage, it was curable. Now, he has officially beat cancer and is cancer-free. 

Courtney shared the happy news via her Twitter account on 29th January 2021. Her uncle Michael passed away in 2015 after a long year battle with cancer.

She has an older brother

Courtney is the youngest one in the family. She has an older brother Christopher Rivera who was born in the year 1996. He graduated from the North Carolina in arts and is currently working as a production manager. 

As per Courtney, her mother leans a little more on her brother, but she is her dad's favorite. They have two pet dogs Sierra and Tahoe, as a part of the family.
