Corri Zimmer rose to fame as the daughter of Mike Zimmer, the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. 

Corry is the executive director at The Mike Zimmer Foundation.

When did Mike Zimmer become the head coach?

After two decades of NFL experience, he became the head coach for Minnesota Vikings. His NFL coaching journey started in 1994 as the defensive backs coach for Dallas Cowboys. 

He was promoted to defensive coordinator in 2000. Later, in 2007, he became the defensive coordinator for Atlanta Falcons. 

After a year, he joined Cincinnati Bengals and held the defensive coordinator position till 2013. He became the head coach for Minnesota Vikings in 2014.

Her parents, Mike and Vikki, first met in 1980 at Weber State University. At the time, Vikki used to dance ballet and was crowned Miss Weber State. 

After they first met, they immediately fell in love and soon got married. They remained in marital bliss for 27 years.

The family went through a tragic loss after the unexpected death of her mother, Vikki Zimmer. In October 2009, at the age of 50, she passed away.

Corri is blessed with two siblings, brother Adam and sister Marki. Adam is in his father's footsteps.

She penned a heartfelt message, writing she had lost her kindest, sweetest, sports-obsessed big brother. 

Her heart is deeply shattered and hurt, and she does not know how she is going to juggle being to her 1-year-old twins and the grief of losing her brother, she wrote. 

She also expressed that her brother was one of her best friends, and their bond even grew closer after the demise of their mother. 

Her brother was always there for her and the first one to show up and volunteer at her foundation events. 

He always kept telling her how proud he was of her and how he loved watching her being a mom.

Corri, in her Instagram, shared that the first time when the doctor told her and her husband that they were having 2, not 1, they were literally shocked.

She expressed gratitude to God for providing her two as he needed to take his mother and brother early. 

Her boys have helped her cope with the grief in every possible way.

Her father was fired as a head coach

Her father was fired as a Minnesota head coach on the 10th of January, 2022, after eight seasons. 

Not only Zimmer but Rick Spielman was fired on the same day after missing the postseason and the second loss in a row. 

Both of their contracts were extended for three years ahead of the 2020 season and had two years remaining on their respective deals at the time of firing.
