Claudio Ranieri

Claudio Ranieri is an Italian-born professional football manager and a former player who is the current manager of Premier League club Watford. 

As a former player, he played as a defender for several Italian clubs like Roma, Catanzaro, Catania, and Palermo. 

In his 13 years of playing career, he ended up earning a total of four promotions.

Happily married for more than four decades

Claudio took over Leicester City in 2015 after having managed 15 clubs, including Chelsea, Valencia, Inter Milan, etc. 

Under his management, he guided the club to lift the premier league trophy in the 2015-16 season, but his happiness was soon taken away as he was dismissed from the post just after the nine months of the victory. 

After his dismissal, he released a statement writing that his dream died with his dismissal as he had dreamt of continuing with the club which he loved. 

With the championship victory, his dream was to always stay with the club, but it was not going to happen. 

He also thanked everyone at the club who was part of what they achieved and his family and his supporters for their immense success.

Claudio was born to his parents Renata Ranieri and Mario Ranieri, who reside in their native Rome. 

His parents owned a butcher shop. Claudio is very close to his mother and talks to her daily. 

When Leicester City lifted their victory cup, he soon took a flight to see his then- 96-year-old mother to share the big moment. 

His mother was overwhelmed with tears when she heard the news of her son’s success and could not stop herself from crying after the game. 

In an interview, she confessed that her son did not get respect while in Rome, and her son would have won the championship in Italy. 

A delighted and proud mother expressed her gratitude to the world for showering compliments for her son’s hard work.

Claudio’s mother is a football lover. She watches every game of him and is kept up to date with the information he gives every evening calling her.
