Christian Culkin

Christian Culkin is an actor known for My Summer Story, but he is more famous as the brother of one of the most successful child actors of the 1990s, Macaulay Culkin. 

Christian left the limelight after appearing in "My Summer Story," which was originally released in the theatre as It Runs in the Family in 1994.

His parents were together for 21 years but never married

Christian was born to his parents, Kit Culkin and Patricia Brentrup. Kit and Patricia were together for 21 years, from 1974 to 1995. 

Together they welcomed seven kids, including Christian but never married. 

Patricia worked as a telephone operator while Kit worked at the Catholic church to run their household modestly. 

Their fourth child Kieran in an interview with Vanity Fair said they lived in a railroad apartment in a tenement for the first nine years of his life. 

He added that they lived in a rough and tumble environment where some of them would go to school and some would not.

Kit and Patricia parted their ways in 1995. 

Christian and his siblings had a good relationship with their mother and still have, but the case was not the same and is not the same to date with their father. 

Macaulay, in an interview with Marc Maron's WTF podcast back in 2018, described his father to be physically and mentally abusive. 

According to him, he believed his success was the reason behind his father's resentment because he excelled before he was ten in everything his father tried doing in his life. 

Kieran said they never cared about their father. For them, their mother, Patricia, was the only parent and enjoyed their father's absence. 

He said it was nice and better when their father was not there.

Patricia later married a different man and moved with him to Billings, Montana.

Kieran, in an interview with Vanity Fair, said their father was determined that they follow in his footsteps and forced them even if they were not interested. 

Kieran said his parents' friends were running a little theatre, the Light Opera of Manhattan, and whenever the production needed the kid, they would be like, "what age and what gender and would say they have got seven of them right there.

Kieran appeared alongside his brother Macaulay in Home Alone and later in the films like Father of the Bride and its sequel, The Cider House Rules. 

He portrayed Roman Roy in the American satirical black comedy series, Succession, for which he earned an Emmy nomination. 

The other brother Rory Culkin appeared alongside his brother Macaulay in The Good Son, and You can count on me alongside his brother Kieran. 

He later appeared in Scream 4, Hick, Columbus, etc. Similarly, the other brother Shane Culkin appeared in the series Great performances in the episode "Our Town." 

Quinn, the younger sister of Macaulay, played a small girl in the airport in the movie Home Alone and also appeared alongside her brothers in The Good Son. 

It was only their sister Dakota who didn't show interest in acting, but she was also forced to. Dakota died in a car accident in 2008 at the age of 29.

He was a ballet dancer before he was an actor. He did ballet for a number of years.

As a child actor, Macaulay never chose the projects, but his parents chose them for him.
