Later, Janel got the same tattoo on the backside of her neck to match her husband, and as she knew how much the tattoo meant for him.

The death of father in law

Janel revealed in an Instagram post that her late father-in-law Buck Long was killed by an 18-year-old driver who was intoxicated with alcohol when he was riding his motorbike. 

Driver disappeared from the scene but was later found by the police hiding in a nearby ravine. He got killed just two weeks before their wedding. 

Janel and Chris, with the rest of the family, were devastated by the news.

Janel also said how they had to lose someone so close by someone who was so senseless and how it could have been prevented. Buck was loved by all the people who knew him.

Chris still feels sorrow for how his father was taken away from them just because of someone else's carelessness, and he also expressed how he would sacrifice everything to have 15 minutes with his father again. 

Chris has also mentioned that his wife Janel has helped him through all the hard times and how thankful he is for her.
