Cheryl Plaza Vieira

Cheryl Plaza Vieira is the beautiful wife of Patrick Vieira, a French football manager and a former player who is currently the manager of Crystal Palace. 

Cheryl was born in Trinidad and is eight years older than Patrick. Patrick became Crystal’s manager on July 4, 2021, succeeding Roy Hodgson. 

His coaching journey so far

Patrick fell in love with the coaching when Manchester City gave him two years after his playing career to find out what he would like to do further. 

The two years time period made him realize that he felt comfortable with the coaching job and wanted to try his hand at it and made his start with under 21 at Manchester City, followed by New York City, OGC Nice, and finally Crystal Palace. 

 For him being a coach is all about making the right decisions for the team and making the players coming from different backgrounds, having different philosophies of life to understand the priority to be football and the team.  

His first year in OGC Nice was quite challenging and demanding. There was a time when he had to go through stressful situations. 

Under his management, he led the Nice to a seventh-placed finish in the league. But sadly, he was out of his post after the continuous five losses in a row. 

She was previously married twice

Cheryl was previously married twice. Her first marriage to a grocer’s son named Naseem Mohammed ended after a few years. 

She was 27 when she got married for the second time to a Telecom engineer, Desmond Campbell. But unfortunately, her second marriage could not last more than three years.

She met her now-husband in England

Cheryl was living a single life until she met her now-husband, Patrick, in England in 1998 at a party. The couple went head over heels in love and soon began dating. 

At first, the couple was secretive about their relationship but came into speculation of their relationship after they were photographed together when the French national team was displaying their Euro 2000 trophy. 

But Patrick had already introduced Cheryl to his family member. Patrick broke silence only in 2002. 

The couple was living together before they exchanged wedding vows in 2005 at the Chelsea Register Office, which included a few of their friends as their wedding witnesses. 

She has been accompanying her husband wherever he goes as a supportive partner.

She has a daughter

She has a daughter named Cheries from her previous relationship. Cheries at first lived with her father in Trinidad and later with Cheryl.

Lost her mother in a fire

Cheryl lost her mother, Marcelline Wilma Plaza, after a fire destroyed the house in 2008. 

She was 63 at the time and had been sharing the house with spouse Cecil Blackman, daughter Gillian, son Curtis and two of her grandchildren. 

According to the sources, Cheryl’s mother had several cuts in her hand while her brother Curtis was rushed to the hospital after the fire caught his body.

Patrick is not only confined to football; he is also an actor.

One of the most celebrated players of his generation, Patrick began his playing career at the 17 with Cannes, followed by Arsenal in 1996, where he scored his first goal for the club in his first season that earned him massive love from the fans. 

He spent nearly a decade with the club, where he made 249 appearances scoring 29 goals, helping the team lift four FA cups and three League titles. 

He was honored with Premier League Player of the season and a French player of the year in the 2000-01 season.  

After Arsenal, he joined Juventus but soon left the club after the club was involved in the match-fixing scandal. 

He became the Inter Milan star, consecutively winning four league titles after having joined the club in 2006. 

Before getting retired from his playing career in 2011, he was playing for Manchester United, where he successively won FA Cup. He has accumulated an impressive net worth from his career.
