Married life 

Charlotte-Gwendoline Sagnol has been happily married to her husband, Willy Sagnol. They got married twice. 

At first, they tied the wedding knot on December 6, 2006, in Grunwald, Germany

For their second wedding, they chose Saint-Tropez, France as their wedding destination and got married on July 5, 2008

Soon after their big day, they welcomed twins.

Charlotte is often spotted accompanying her husband to events. 

On June 18, 2015, she was photographed with her husband attending the La Fete de la Fleur garden party which was held at Chateau Montrose in Medoc

She accompanied her husband to the 65th edition of Cravaches d'Or at the Theatre des Champs-Elysees which lies in Paris on March 14, 2014.

She is his second wife

Charlotte is Willy's second wife. Prior to her, Willy was married to a woman named Laetitia. From their marriage, they were blessed with two children. 

They welcomed their first child, a daughter, on September 27, 2002, and named her Chiara Sagnol

After four years, they gave birth to their second child, a son, on November 2, 2006, and named him Sandro Sagnol

Laetitia, along with her daughter, was seen in the stadium during the World Cup 2006 on July 5, 2006, to support Willy

After France won the semi-final against Portugal, Willy ran to the stadium where Laetitia and Chiara were to celebrate the victory. 

He was photographed hugging and kissing his daughter.

However, they couldn’t save their marriage and got divorced.

She ended the feud between her husband and Zinedine Zidane

During the 2006 World Cup, Zinedine Zidane was sent off in the 110th minute of the game for headbutting Marco Materazzi in the chest. 

Zinedine could not participate in the penalty which led to France losing the final to Italy by 5-3 and taking the World Cup trophy home. 

Willy took the loss to his heart and wouldn’t accept Zinedine's apology. He even refused to talk to him. 

During an interview, Willy said he entered the changing room after losing the game and Zinedine was there talking and apologizing but he even refused to hear it as he was deeply disappointed. 

Willy just sat in the bathroom and smoked 25 cigarettes in ten minutes. 

He didn’t talk with Zinedine for two years until his wife, Charlotte, asked him to invite Zinedine

He couldn’t refuse his wife so he called him and invited Zinedine. Zinedine then joined them for a little snack in the morning and they had a good conversation.

Her husband's career

As a player, Willy used to play as a defender. He started his playing career with Saint-Etienne youth team in 1990 and played with the club until 1995

He started his senior career with Saint-Etienne in 1995 and played with the club for two years. 

In 1997, he joined Monaco and played with the club till 2000

He joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2000 and spent the majority of his playing career with the team. 

He hung his boot with the club on February 1, 2009, after getting recurring problems with his Achilles tendon. 

Willy also represented his country on the international level. He played for the France national team from 2000 to 2008

He was a part of France's squad in the 2006 FIFA World Cup and also Euro 2008

Willy started his managerial career in 2011 by becoming the technical director for the France national team

He then became the interim manager of the France U20 in 2013. He took charge of France U21 from 2013 to 2014

On May 23, 2014, Willy became the head coach of Girondins de Bordeaux by signing a two-year contract but he was dismissed after losing a game in Derby de la Garonne on March 14, 2015

He joined Bayern Munich as an assistant coach on June 9, 2017, under Carlo Ancelotti
