He was born in Glen Rock, New Jersey which lies in the United States. He attended Glen Rock High School. 

His father's name is Michael Tahan and his mother is Ellie Tahan. He is very close to his parents but when he turned 18, he was eager to move out of the house like all the teenagers.  

In an interview, Charlie Tahan said that he has not attended college. He said, 

“I have a job, I don’t have to go to college, and I get to act”

He has two siblings, an older brother whose name is Willie Tahan and a younger sister whose name is Daisy Tahan. He is the middle child. His sister is also an actress. 

At the age of 10, Charlie Tahan was interested in acting. He used to watch television and try to copy the characters of television. He performed very well in his school which made his parents think of providing him an opportunity to work in films and television. He said, 

“My dad is a big movie buff, so I watched a lot of movies growing up, and I always liked dressing up as a kid.”
