Charles Donald Fegert is the ex-spouse of Barbara Eden. Originally, he belonged to Chicago.

Raised in a middle-class family

Charles was born and raised in a middle-class family. His father is known to be a steelworker. Before, Charles used to work in the mills for a short span of time. 

However, later he served in the Coast Guard. He received his degree in the year 1955 and then began working in the role of an ad salesman for Sun-Times. 

After a while, he started serving in Daily News in the year 1969. 

In that year, he was also promoted to store advertising and retail advertising to advertising manager from salesman at Sun-Times. 

Charles and Barbara's journey from marriage to divorce

Beginning from the top, the two individuals met in the year 1974. They fell in love with each other then. 

So, they took the step to take on their relationship further, so they tied the knot on September 3rd, 1977. 

Barbara's son named, Matthew, whom she had from her previous relationship, disagreed with Charles and Barbara's relationship. 

So, he did not live with them after their wedding. The pair were together for five whole years. They were officially separated in the year 1982. 

Well, it's been said that the reason for their split is drug use by Charles. 

It is also claimed that Charles was using drugs excessively while getting married to Barbara. 

Nevertheless, Charles also started assaulting Barbara in their further days after marrying, which led to divorce.

Barbara Eden was married thrice times

Barbara first tied the knot with a man named Michael in the year 1958. Michael is her fellow actor. Together they welcomed a son Matthew in August 1965. 

But the pair split in the year 1974. In her biography of her titled 'Jeannie Out of the Bottle,' she shared that they called their son a lucky charm. 

She further stated with the presence of their son, their happiness was unlimited as he meant everything to them. 

Sadly, their son passed away in the year 2001 from the excessive use of drugs. He was 35 age at that time. 

After Michael, it was Charles. However, after divorcing Charles too, she found her new love in Jon Eicholtz. 

Professionally, Jon serves as an architect and real estate developer. He graduated from Kansas University, achieving a degree in Architectural engineering. 

In the year 2014, the pair began their own scholarship at Jon's alma mater for students who were in search of pursuing careers in acting. 

Barbara, in one of her interviews, stated the secret marriage with Jon. 

She stated one should walk into another person's shoes if you are facing even tiny obstacles. 

Allow yourself to see their side too, even though it's not easy, but at least try, the actress added. The lady shared how she is so happy with Jon and with their low-key life. 

She even added that she feels lucky to be surrounded by lovely friends and family, a supportive life partner, and a lovely dog. 

Adding that there is always a reason for most of the things in life which cannot wish for it.
