Carrie Beth Van Dyke

Carrie Beth Van Dyke is an American actress. She is popularly known as the daughter of Dick Van Dyke. 

Carrie is the third born of Dick and Margie Willett. She has three siblings: Stacy, Christain, and Barry Van Dyke. 

PROFESSIONAL LIFE 

At the very young age of 10, Carrie appeared in ‘The New Dick Van Dyke Show.’ The show was a popular sitcom that was broadcasted on CBS from 1971 to 1974. 

The show featured Van Dyke as Dick Preston, a local television talk show host. 

The show revolved around Preston’s professional and personal life with his wife and child. 

Carrie starred in two episodes of the show, one in 1971 and the other time in 1973.

In 1971, Carrie appeared in the 4th episode of Season 1, “Everything from ‘A to Z’.” Carrie played the role of Carrie Preston, daughter of Dick Preston. 

Later in 1973, Carrie again appeared in episode 21 of season 3, “The Power of the Bleep,” as a Girl Scout. The show was immensely loved by the audience.

PERSONAL LIFE OF DICK VAN DYKE

On 12th February 1948, he got married to Margerie Willet on the show Bride and Groom. 

They had four babies together: Christian, Barry, Stacy, and Carrie Beth. They got divorced in 1984. In 1976, Van and Michelle Triola began dating. 

They stayed together for over 30 years. Sadly, Michelle passed away in 2009. 

About three years later, on 29th February 2012, Van tied the knot with a then 40-year-old makeup artist, Arlene Silver, at the age of 86.

Van has seven grandchildren. In 1987, he lost his daughter Jessica to Reye’s Syndrome. 

After that, he did many commercials to raise awareness about the hazards of aspirin to children. 

Dick Van is a pro-dancer as well. On 19th October 2015, he posted, 

“You don’t stop dancing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop dancing.”

The latest post of Van on his Instagram handle is a tribute to her majesty Queen Elizabeth 2 after the queen passed away on 8th September 2022.
