Carole Krumenacher is famous as an ex-spouse of Emmy-winning American sportscaster Bob Costas.
Costas has broadcast seven Super Bowls and is the recipient of 29 Emmys.
She was married to Costas for 18 years
Krumenacher met her future husband Costas in 1980 when he was at the Weber School in St. Louis, where she was a third-grade teacher.
They got married in 1983. Soon after her marriage, she left her job to be a homemaker.
Proud mom of two
She is the proud mother of her two beautiful kids, a son and a daughter, who she shares with her ex-husband.
They gave birth to their first child son, Keith Michael Kirby Costas, in 1986. Three years later, their daughter, Taylor Costas, was born.
There is an interesting story behind naming their son. Costas's family had a close relationship with Minnesota Twins center fielder Kirby Puckett.
Puckett was Costas's closest friend.
When Krumenacher was pregnant with their first child, they didn't know the gender of the child, and Puckett at the time said Kirby worked for a boy and a girl.
It was early in the 1986 season, and Costas jokingly promised him he would name their baby Kirby if he were hitting .350 or better when their baby was born.
The Costas family initially did not give a first (or) second name Kirby.
Still, it was after Puckett reminded Costas of the promise that the birth certificate was changed to "Keith Michael Kirby Costas."
Both of her children have followed in their father's footsteps and are the winners of Sports Emmy.
Keith has won two as an associate producer of MLB's Network MLB Tonight, while Taylor has won one as an associate producer on NBC's coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Costas, on his memory power
People close to Costas say Costa has a photographic memory.
During an interview with Graham Bensinger, Costas admitted to having a sharp memory since an early age but not having a photographic memory when he was told that everyone who knows him said he has a photographic memory.
Ross Greenburg, former president of HBO Sports, said Costas could recall items from 50 years ago as if they happened yesterday.
Likewise, NBC Sports Analyst Mary Carillo said Costas could describe a baseball game from 1927 inning by inning.
Costas said that he has never bought into that completely, explaining that photographic, in truth, means absolutely recalling everything.
According to him, his memory was always very sharp, which he thinks is still sharper than the average person his age.
Having said that, he still sees some diminution in it. He can't instantly recall who he is looking for.
It is still good, but it's not quite at whatever level it once was, he said.
He also gave a demonstration clarifying his diminishing memory by listing every U.S. president in chronological order.
He said he would slow down after getting to Lyndon Johnson because he would have to consciously think of them.
Costas says one good thing about him is that he doesn't pretend to stuff that he can't do.
Although he has good knowledge of the subjects that he talks about, if someone asks him about something he is not really up to speed on, then he will not fake it.
He says he doesn't know, he added.
Who is Costas currently married to?
Costas is currently married to his wife, Jill Sutton. They first met at the Super Bowl in 1998 and married on 12th March 2004, are together since then.
They reside in New York. The couple does not share any kids together.
