When Delonte was staying at his home with his family and friends, he had taken nightly doses of medicine and tried to get rest. 

Suddenly, he was awakened by his mother, Delphina Addison, when she got furious after seeing Delonte’s friends playing with the weapons of Delonte. 

Afterward, he gathered the weapons, hopped on his three-wheel motorcycle, and went through the highway to safely store the weapons in another home that he had owned nearby. 

While driving, the medicine he had taken started to kick in, and he got drowsy. 

During such a situation, he flagged down a police officer and told him that he was medicated out of sorts and was trying to get his weapons in his nearby home, which was a safe location. 

Things didn’t seem to work out with Delonte, as the police didn’t provide any kind of assistance. Instead, he got locked up on weapon charges. 

A comeback in basketball

In March 2022, Delonte presented himself as playing basketball at the age of 39. 

The former basketball player shared that this is the biggest blessing of his life at his current moment which is also his gift from God. 

He thanked his family, friends BIG3, and the league because he thought of giving up on himself. 

He said sometimes God removes things from you to show what you have and who you are. He said he couldn’t wait to go and show what he could do.
