He had a deadly accident in 2003 when his car collided in a head-on collision. The condition was severe as the car was traveling at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles/hr).

He was in the wreckage of the car for about an hour and was taken out. The midsection of his face was severely damaged and collapsed. His left knee and ankle suffered major fractures.

To save him, an incision was made from ear to ear, and it was over the top of his scalp. His whole face was then pulled down, and 17 titanium plates were needed to make it normal again. 

The plated were inserted to repair the fractures in his face and also in his jaw. His eye also suffered blows as he lost sight of one eye.
