Bruce Ehrich

Bruce Ehrich is famous as a beloved father of Emmy-nominated actor and musician Max Ehrich. 

Bruce’s father, Arnold was a Korean war veteran and a member of the Men’s Club of Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim in Cranford, N.J.

Bruce served as a chief health and safety manager for the New York Department of Environmental Protection. He attended Cranford High School. 

Married to a middle school teacher

Bruce married his wife Rhonda Ehrich, a middle school teacher, in August 1986. Both Bruce and Rhonda are Jewish. 

Rhonda’s father Dr. Sidney Green, who was also a Korean war veteran, moved to New Jersey in 1992. 

As parents, Bruce and Rhonda have supported the artistic growth of their son Max. Rhonda was a teacher at Marlboro Middle School, which Max attended. 

Bruce and Rhonda are still together, living a blissful married life with no signs of divorce. They have been residing in Marlboro, New Jersey.

Bruce is the proud father of his two sons, Max and Matthew Ehrich. Bruce and his spouse raised their two sons in Marlboro, New Jersey.

Max’s acting career so far

Max made his film debut in 2004 with One Easy Job and started landing small parts on various television shows until he got his big break in 2012 with American CBS Daytime Soap Opera The Young and the Restless. 

He played Fenmore Baldwin for five years, the role that landed him to four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series. 

He was then in recurring roles in CBS’ Under The Dome, Nickelodeon show, 100 Things to Do Before High School. 

In 2019, he appeared in Netflix’s Walk. Ride. Rodeo. He has a recurring role in American Princess. 

Talking about his musical career, Max endured bullying for being an artist during his school days, so he would be at his home on the piano to get healed. 

He used to sing other people’s songs, playing different melodies on the piano until he had his first break-up at 16. 

He wrote his first song after his first break-up, from where he realized he could write songs and went on writing more and more songs. 

He had no intention of having a musical career as all of his songs was a way of healing. 

He went on exploring his musical talent via Instagram, from where his videos went viral, and people started reaching out to him.

Bruce was about to become the father-in-law of singer-songwriter Demi Lovato since his son Max was engaged to Demi before they called it quits. 

Max and fellow actor and singer Demi Lovato were quick in dating and quick in calling it quits. 

The ex-couple hinted at their relationship with flirty Instagram comments in March 2020 and a week after they were spotted together in Los Angeles. 

According to Lovato, they immediately quarantined together at the beginning of the pandemic after a week of dating. 

They made their relationship official in May 2020, appearing in Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande’s collaborative Single “Stuck With U,” where Max and Demi were passionately exchanging kisses, and got engaged by July the same year. 

Talking about engagement, Demi said being engaged to Max was the best day of their life and was a good influence on them. 

But just after two months in September, there was a full stop in their beautiful relationship. 

Demi announced they broke off the engagement with Max giving the reason for Max’s ingenuine intention. 

On the other hand, Max stated that he was unaware of his relationship status until he heard from a tabloid. In May 2021, Demi came out as a non-binary.  

In their documentary, Dancing with the Devil, they stated being rushed into something that they thought was what they were supposed to do and realized as the time passed by that they didn’t know the person they got engaged to. 

Further speaking about their relationship failure in August, Demi said that breaking off with Erich was the best thing that ever happened since it helped in coming out as non-binary. 

It was during the time they started to identify themselves as non-binary then met someone and got into a straight relationship, but at the same time was leading them to ignore all the parts of themselves that they didn’t think were digestible to their partner at the time.

Following the split with Demi Lovato, both his wife and Max started getting awful messages from the fans, which required Max to ask them not to do so. 

Through his Instagram, he urged the fans not to text his mother throughout the nights. He also asked them to stop harassing him and leave him alone. 

He also raised the question on his ex of how they could allow someone they loved to be bullied by their fans if they happened to be preaching about anti-bullying.
