He joined the San Diego Chargers in 2013. After six years, he traveled to Indianapolis Colts for the role of in team's offensive coordinator. In 2021, finally, he was hired as the head coach.

Nick’s mom said he was very emotional about it because it was a dream come true for him. 

His dad said that Nick was on vacation with his wife and three kids when he called him and informed him that the Eagles had called him for a job interview and hadn’t prepared for that as he didn’t have a suit with him at the time. 

The Eagles had him in casual dress at the owner, Jeffrey Lurie’s house. The interview continued for two days, and on the third, he was offered the head coaching job.

How Nick built his coaching staff

To help develop the players and the team to succeed, there is the need for the best coaching staff, and Sirianni has the best people on his staff. 

Selecting the best people is a process. Sirianni, during an exclusive interview with Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro, gave an insight into how he built his coaching staff.

According to Sirianni, it was all about the interview process and then the vetting of that person. His coaching staff comprises a variety of guys. 

There were some of them whom he knew, having worked with them for several years. 

He said it wasn’t too much to call around 10 to 20 people to see that they have worked with the coach in the past and see if that all checks out. 

There were some guys they didn’t know about, but they got them by good word of mouth, after which they went through the same interview and the vetting process. 

To be on his coaching staff, he needs to know if they know how to teach the fundamentals. 

He saw that they could help in the game plan process when they go through a week and help get their guys in the right positions. 

The other thing that is important to him is that their core values coincided with his core values. 

He wanted to know how they connected with the guys and how they coach competitiveness, fundamentals, and football IQ.
