Columbus opened up about the domestic violence accusations and the impact it made upon his mental and his career during an interview with Fox Soul, Cocktail with Queens.
In February, Columbus was charged with two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence and child endangerment following a verbal altercation with his wife, Aida Abramyam, that later turned into physical.
Columbus accused his wife of punching him in the face, but there was no any mark. He was then arrested on a single felony domestic violence charge.
He previously served 34 days in prison after being arrested for domestic violence in 2018.
In 2014 and 2016, both of his ex-wives, Karrine Steffans and Tuere Tanee Short were granted a temporary restraining order after they alleged him of domestic violence, respectively.
Talking about the recent allegations made against him, he said that the allegations are not simply true and not as bad as it has been portrayed by the press, especially TMZ.
He expressed that all those years when he was working hard, he didn’t get any press.
He was like nobody unless they saw the work that he was working on, and then all of a sudden, he is more famous for being an alleged abuser than he is for the work that he has really put in his entire life.
He also expressed getting panic attacks every time the headlines came out and that he stopped the press because they tucked the story.
He also explained what actually happened between him and his wife.
According to him, he asked his wife to leave home because of frustration and unintentionally scratched her hand while grabbing her phone.
Shortly after that, the police were called, and he was arrested due to his history of domestic violence, but they were respectful and got him in and out, he said.
