Brandi Short is famous for being the ex-spouse of American actor and choreographer Columbus Short.
Their marriage was short-lived
Brandi was married to Columbus in 2001, but her marriage was short-lived.
Their marriage union gave birth to their first child, a son, but their marriage lasted only two years. They got divorced in 2003.
Britney Spears was the reason behind their divorce
Columbus was a backing dancer for Britney Spears and had a short fling with her when he was still married to Brandi.
In an interview with Star Magazine in 2004, Columbus admitted to sharing a bed with Britney Spears.
He said that he truly slept with Spears, but they never had s*x because of the presence of another person in the room.
They shared a bed and were really close, kissing and hugging.
He described the feeling to be magical and intense, but then Spear’s mom became an obstruct as soon as their feelings started to develop.
He also said that it would be fair to say that Spears caused major problems in their marriage.
He added that despite everything that happened, he will always remember those special moments with Spears.
Columbus later, in an interview with Bet.com in 2012, confessed that having kids made him want to be more responsible.
However, he previously thought it to be daunting and was uncomfortable with the idea of being a role model.
He said it was a daunting burden he didn’t want to carry and didn’t want to be accountable to people that might look upon him.
But now, having a son and a daughter (whom he shares with his second ex-wife, actress, and dancer Tanee McCall), he feels responsible, especially for our people.
Being an example at home first is more important than going outward into the community, he said at the time.
Her ex-husband feels he is more famous for being an alleged abuser than he is for his work
Columbus opened up about the domestic violence accusations and the impact it made upon his mental and his career during an interview with Fox Soul, Cocktail with Queens.
In February, Columbus was charged with two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence and child endangerment following a verbal altercation with his wife, Aida Abramyam, that later turned into physical.
Columbus accused his wife of punching him in the face, but there was no any mark. He was then arrested on a single felony domestic violence charge.
He previously served 34 days in prison after being arrested for domestic violence in 2018.
In 2014 and 2016, both of his ex-wives, Karrine Steffans and Tuere Tanee Short were granted a temporary restraining order after they alleged him of domestic violence, respectively.
Talking about the recent allegations made against him, he said that the allegations are not simply true and not as bad as it has been portrayed by the press, especially TMZ.
He expressed that all those years when he was working hard, he didn’t get any press.
He was like nobody unless they saw the work that he was working on, and then all of a sudden, he is more famous for being an alleged abuser than he is for the work that he has really put in his entire life.
He also expressed getting panic attacks every time the headlines came out and that he stopped the press because they tucked the story.
He also explained what actually happened between him and his wife.
According to him, he asked his wife to leave home because of frustration and unintentionally scratched her hand while grabbing her phone.
Shortly after that, the police were called, and he was arrested due to his history of domestic violence, but they were respectful and got him in and out, he said.
