Beth Gardner is a mother who is best recognized for her celebrity son, Nick Cannon.
About Nick Cannon in brief
A T.V. legend who started his career at the age of 11 doing stand-up comedy rose to fame from Nickelodeon Sketch Comedy's work.
At the age of seventeen, he became the youngest writer in television history. His show "The Nick Cannon Show" in 2002 made him a director and a producer.
It did not limit himself to this only. He started his musical career forming a rap group named Da G4 Dope Bomb in the 90s.
He has appeared in big hit movies like Men in Black II, Drumline: A New Beat, Love Don't Cost a Thing, etc.
He hosted the popular television show "America's Got Talent" from 2009 to 2016. He is currently hosting "The Masked Singer."
Married at her teen
Beth got married to James Cannon Jr. at her teen. They were in high school when they welcomed their son to the world.
She was still attending high school even after giving birth. James was just 17 years old when he became a father.
His son attended his graduation ceremony. Beth did a couple of part-time jobs and later landed her job as an accountant.
The couple's marriage could not last long. They got divorced when Nick was quite young. Nick spent his time between his mom and dad's house, who lived in two different states.
The dramatic change in her ex-husband's life
James, who is an Evangelist, believes that God changed his life at a young age.
During his earlier days, he got locked up for gang fights, but his life dramatically changed after Christ broke into his life; it made a huge difference in his life.
The only thing he wished to do was to talk about the Gospel. He has been participating in spreading his testimony through different gospel media outlets to young people these days.
Besides that, he runs his son's company.
Children
Nick is the only child of Beth Gardner with her ex-husband, James Cannon Jr. However, Nick shares four half-siblings born to his father with his second wife.
He was raised alongside his four siblings, Gabriel, Reuben Cannon, Caleb, and Javon.
Nick is the father of three children. He has two fraternal twins daughter Monroe and son Moroccan who are 9 years old, with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey, a famous American singer.
He welcomed his third child, son Golden "Sagon" Cannon in February 2017 with his model girlfriend, Brittany Bell. There is the rumor that Nick is soon going to be a father once again.
Paternal grandparents raised Nick
His paternal grandparents mostly raised Nick, and they are very close to his heart.
His grandfather played a vital role in his life and career, from raising to being the influential person in his life.
He fell in love with performing when his grandfather took him to a bunch of musicals at eight. Nick considers him as his second dad.
When his grandfather died on 21st May 2016, he was deeply heartbroken.
A tragic loss
Last December, the family suffered a tragic loss, losing Nick’s five-month-old son Zen whom he shared with Alyssa Scott.
In his daytime talk show, Nick shared the sad news, mourning in pain. Nick said that Zen was suffering from hydrocephalus, a complication of brain cancer.
Around Thanksgiving, the fluid that was building on his head caused his head to grow big, and they discovered it was more like a malignant tumor in his head that required immediate surgery.
They had put the shunt in his head, but in Thanksgiving, the process sped up, with the tumor beginning to grow a lot faster.
He was all in tears while describing his final moment with his son. He said, ”Not only did we get to see the sunrise, but we got to see the sunset too.”
For what, Nick apologized to all the mothers of his seven kids?
In his daytime talk show, Nick had discussed his private family matters for which he asked for an apology.
A week earlier, he had revealed that he was expecting his eighth child with Bre Tiesi. The revelation was just after weeks of his five-month-old son Zen's death whom he shared with Alyssa Scott.
Regretting the family affair he spoke of, he said of being sorry for not handling the situation maturely and failing to protect and respect the privacy of the mothers of all his children.
He added he misspoke and went too much in detail on Monday, expressing his feelings, not knowing how to explain, having said that he can do better with dealing with the delicate insensitive discussion.
According to him, too much detailing made him feel like he was making some comparisons or probably discussing the demise of his son Zen and talking about the new child.
He felt he didn’t have to do that as they were two completely separate moments of his life.
And they both deserve respect, where grieving is the process in which he and his family is still grieving, and his love for Alyssa and son Zen will be forever.
He is going to love his new child and every child from that point on as a responsible human being, he explained.
He also said that he has a great relationship with the mothers of his kids and has great admiration for them in his life and promised his family and the mothers of his children to do better and continue to be more understanding, caring, and compassionate.
He sincerely apologized to everyone involved for any extra pain or confusion he may have caused.
