Jason is one of the few mega-stars to perform their stunts since the beginning of his career. 

He also believes that the stunt performers should get wide recognition for their high-risk jobs and believe that there should be a category at the Academy Awards.  

Jason has been risking his life and was almost drowned while performing the stunt for The Expendables. 

They were filming near the dock on the edge of a Black sea area where he had to drive a big truck, and everyone was supposed to be at the back of the truck. 

For the test drive, he drove the truck and tried to stop, but nothing happened. A few minutes later, he was stuck in the mud 60 feet under the Black sea. He pulled himself out of the window and got to the surface.

Married to a dancer

Barry Statham married Eileen-Yates Statham, who used to be a dancer. They are currently residing in Canary Island in Las Palmas. The couple is seen making appearances in red carpets.

Worked as a street merchant

Barry used to work as a street merchant. He was a boxer too. Besides that, he was fond of music and was a Lounge singer in Canary Island. He used to sing under the name “Wild Bill.” 

His relation with music came from his father, who used to play the harmonica.  He also worked multiple odd jobs to support his family, such as a house painter, coal miner, etc. 

During the initial days, Jason worked in the streets selling Jewelry and perfumes to support him financially.

One son following his footsteps

He is the father to his two sons, older Lee Statham and younger Jason. Lee Statham followed his footsteps and is a guitarist and singer. 

Since the age of eight, he has been playing guitar and has been traveling around the world playing guitar and singing in many different venues around the world. 

Like Barry, Lee also covers all styles of music. Jason used to play drum along with his singer father and guitarist brother while he was a kid.

Barry's son fulfilled his life long dream 

His lifelong dream of performing in the Las Vegas Strip was fulfilled at the age of 76 when his son Jason surprisingly arranged a set to perform at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. 

It was a present from Jason on his 76th birthday in 2015. Barry was utterly overwhelmed and content, as he had never thought of his dream coming true. Barry and his wife were unaware of the surprise.

Jason is engaged to his long-time girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, a 33-year supermodel, actress, fitness instructor, and former Victoria’s Secret Angel. 

They first met in 2010 at the Coachella Music Festival. Since the couple was private about their relationship initially, it is not known when they started dating. 

They got engaged on 10th January 2016 and shared an adorable son Jack Oscar Statham born in June 2017. They live in a $13 million worth home in Beverly Hills.
