Aurora Cossio

Aurora Cossio is a Colombian-born actress. Cossio played the lead Almadedios in the 2011 film Faccio un salto all'Avana. 

She is one of the cast of Netflix's hit miniseries "Griselda."

Early life 

Cossio was born to her parents, Neftali Guillermo Cossio Lozano, a neurosurgeon, and Alma Mercado Di Fillipo. 

She was raised alongside her brother, Neftali Ricardo Cossio. 

In an interview, she said it was her dad who encouraged her love for cinematographic art from a very young age. 

She recalled saying to him that he would see her on the big screen one day. 

She graduated from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Colombia with a degree in psychology before getting trained as an actress from several schools and acting courses between Italy, Spain, and the United States. 

Cossio was working as a sales assistant in a silverware shop in Rome, Italy, in 2006 when she luckily met Italian entrepreneur and politician Silvio Berlusconi, who provided her with a contact with his film production company. 

She made her acting debut playing Zoe in the 2008 film The Littlest Son.

Cossio landed a part in the highly anticipated Netflix series Griselda, which became the Netflix hit. 

The series, who is is based on the true story of Columbian ruthless drug lord Griselda Blanco thriving to create her own space in the male-dominated world of drug trafficking in the 70s and 80s. 

The role of Griselda is portrayed by actress Sofia Vergara.

In the series Griselda, Cossio played the role of an ambitious woman, Estella, who wants to follow in Griselda's footsteps, portrayed by Sofia Vergara, idolizes her, and is ready to take every risk to be part of her inner circle. 

During an interview, she shared getting a part in Griselda was a great, surprise emotion. 

The unique thing was that the day she met Sophia, the same day she met Sophia on set, was the same day Estella met Griselda, she said. 

She didn’t know that she was going to work with Sophia, or the director, or anybody else. 

It was just getting the audition and then jumping on the set for her. 

Cossio also shared working with Sofia Vergara was amazing and described her to be a fun-loving and supportive person. 

She is the same as she is in every interview, very fun and supportive, and above that, she loves working with women, she said.

She is also an entrepreneur

Cossio is also an entrepreneur. She is the founder of Good Morning Happiness. 

In an interview, she said she is not leaving her career as an actress but rather wants to work hand in hand as a businesswoman. 

According to her, the main mission of Good Morning Happiness is an invitation to face life without losing the joy of living using laughter therapy as a resource. 

It aims at people dealing with physical and emotional pain and will provide training to them to understand the function of the brain and how brain chemistry affects the health of the body and emotions. 

The brand is created with so much love that she is using all her resources, including everyone, she said.

Cossio is yet to get married. As of now, there is no news of her dating life. Since she is not married and not dating anyone, she has no children.
